N66U - issues with USB drives

Hi

I've been having long-running problems with frequent errors on a 2.5" USB drive (WD My Book 1.5TB I think) connected to my N66U (recent merlin build). I tried switching from FAT32 to EXT3 but it made no difference. I presumed that it was just a faulty drive.

Now I have swapped it out for a small 32GB thumb drive and I am still getting problems - even worse now. I can ssh in and browse the stick, create directories and such, but the logs are showing continuous error (presumably from...

I run AsusWRT Merlin 384.3 on an RT-AC68U, using NO-IP as DDNS.

Is possible add another ddns, I would like to add also duckdns without dismissing no-ip service.

I am trying to route a specific host to a local IP using a jffs config script, but don't seem to be able to get the lookup to work correctly.

In dnsmasq.conf.add:

Hello,

This is my first post in this forum. It is now three weeks that I am reading many posts here on how to better tailor my RT-AC66U_B1 router (running Asuswrt-Merlin 380.69_2) to my needs. So, piece by piece, I've assembled a quite lenghty firewall-start script and a much smaller nat-script where I do all my business. I am using a RT-AC87U with RT-AC87U_380.69_2.trx and tried setting up hide.me connection with their files, for example „Frankfurt.ovpn“.

After loading the file, I only changed the settings:
TLS Renegotiation Time: 1800
Connection Retry: 60
Username and password are not relevant for the reproduction of the problem (entering something will do).

When I start the connection “Error - SSL/TLS issue!” appears besides the ON switch, and the log says:

RT-N66U loses connection with latest firmware (380.69)

After upgrading to 380.69, my media bridge RT-N66U loses the connection after 12 to 24 hours and has to be re-booted. It didn't used to do that. It's connected to my RT-AC87U as a media bridge for my PS4, smart TV, and a computer. I went back to the previous firmware for the RT-N66U (380.68_4) and kept the 380.69 for the AC87U, and the problem no longer occurs.

It's not a huge deal for me, and I see the RT-N66U will no longer be supported anyway; however, I thought I'd mention...

I reported this problem previously with 380.69. I tried 389.6_2 like Pat57 in the following thread and the issue persists for me too:

The RT-N66U connects fine as a media bridge but then loses the connection and has to be rebooted after about 12-24 hours.

help recovering bricked rt-ac56u

hello community ! :)

As i wanted to join the ARM asuswrt world (i already have an rt-n16 and rt-n66u - mipsel and almost eol) i've bought a bricked rt-ac56u hoping to revive it.

I've connected a serial console and the output is somehow encouraging but I've failed to make any ip connectivity.

What do you suggest I do next?

i am not able to update to the new firmware... i try and it reboots but it didn't stick.... i am wondering if anyone else is having this issue. if possible i would like some help... i can get logs if needed (i dont know how to get them right now... but i can look into it)

Merlin openvpn client: 1 OK, 4 no internet

Hi gals and guys,
Suddenly only one vpn client of 5 that I have configured, is able to connect to the internet. the other four claim they are "connected" (in service state), but I can't reach the internet. Everything worked fine and for no apparent reason, things went wrong. I've tried everything, but to no avail.
If somebody has a suggestion, I would be very very very much obliged.
Asus 5300, Merlin 380.69.2. router (wan) 192.168.1.25 (router after router set up).

Help Cannot access netdata via webbrowser. Permission issue

I installed netdata but when I try to access it via webbrowser (192.168.x.x:19999) it gives me this error

"Access to file is not permitted: /opt/share/netdata/web/"

Can anyone help me with this.

Hi guys,

I'm running a VPN through Open VPN and it works perfectly. Only problem is that the connection drops on a regular basis, after 10-12 hours. Hard to say exactly when, but basically if I turn the VPN on, I have no problem for several hours, but if I come back the next day, it's very likely that the connection will have dropped and when I log on the router I see the following error:

2017 in review

2017 is almost over already. The whole year has been a blur for me (in particular due to major changes in my professional life). This has been another interesting year for Asuswrt-Merlin, for multiple reasons. First of all, 2017 marked the 5th anniversary of this project. This milestone was reached last April, however I was too busy with other things at the time so I completely missed it. So here's a belated happy birthday to us!

Hi, since moving to this build with my AC3200 dual wan doesn't seem to work anymore.. i was previously on 380.x and it was working fine.. any tips how to get this working again on the current build?

I can see it under USB devices and comes up as "Sierra Wireless, Incorporated AirCard 320U" but just wont get online.

Here something i seen in the logs.. and looking up the Vendor/Product IDs it comes up as my 4G dongle.

N66U internet stopped working, only fixed by quick internet setup

I got a notice today from Uptime Robot that internet was down at my rental property. Comcast was reporting from their app that the modem was up and no outages were reported in the area. My N66U was running 380.68_4 and when I got there a few hours later, connecting to the wifi network immediately opened the "Quick Internet Setup" wizard. I originally thought something had happened where it factory reset itself, but after entering my admin username and password, it went through and...
