[RT-AC86U] Accelerated crypto with /dev/crypto

I've been trying to test openssl to use /dev/crypto, to access the accelerated ciphers of the RT-AC86U. These are kernel modules in the Linux mainline kernel, written in 64-bit assembler, intended for the ARMv8 cpu. However, it's kernelspace and I need a userspace interface such as /dev/crypto or AF_ALG to access the ciphers....

Help After Factory Reset

Hello,

Yesterday i did a factory reset and now i have 2 thing that i<m not sure how to fix

1 - I need to switch my external HDD to /mnt/sdb1 because after the factory it seeing it has /mnt/sda1

2 - I have another external drive with AB-Solution and entware but after i reboot i get cannot write read only file system or something like that. I took another USB and reinstall then reboot .... Same problem... Help :)!

Hi!

I was running 380.59 in a RT-AC56U happily for years until yesterday, when I realised that I couldn't SSH into the router. Thinking that I messed up a config somewhere, I did a factory reset and installed the latest stable (380.69), and found out that still couldn't connect. I activated the WAN access and could connect with putty once with the public IP address, but it only worked once. I tried with an ssh client for android phones and could connect without an issue. I don't see any...

Using ASUS RT-AC86U with Asuswrt-Merlin - Current 384.3

Hello, not sure the problem is linked with 384.3, i just tried to run my new Openvpn client config (provider require 2.4.2 or later).
My client don't start with log error :
Options error: Unrecognized option or missing or extra parameter(s) in config.ovpn:37: register-dns (2.4.4)
Options error: Unrecognized option or missing or extra parameter(s) in config.ovpn:39: block-outside-dns (2.4.4)

Are these 2 commands a problem for 2.4.4...

So to solve all the problems with installing dnscrypt with entware (or similar) then setting up various scripts to handle dnscrypt-proxy starting up including the ntp issue, I made my own installer for dnscrypt-proxy.

Requirements:
- ARM or MIPSEL based ASUS routers
- asuswrt-merlin firmwares or compatible
- jffs support and script enabled

Incompatibilities:
- No known issue

Hey all,

Today I plugged my 8TB WD EasyStore from Black Friday into the USB port on the back of the RT-AC3200. It wasn't showing up at first so I completed the firmware update to 384.3 and did restore factory settings first then initialize factory settings after that just to be sure and I still can't find the Samba share. I have a host of W10 devices all over the apartment and no luck. Any tips on where to start here? I've enabled guest login and also formatted the device via the router...

Since more then 6 months I have been experiencing 5Ghz wifi stability issues with my RT- n66u device. Sometimes the 5Ghz SSID even doesn't show up in the wifi discovery of my mobile devices. I think it might be triggered by the Google Chromecast I had installed around the same time. AC86U SMB Tweaking

So I recently purchased a 2TB WD Elements HDD for the purpose network storage, I formatted this drive ext4. I noticed pretty fast that SMB default values give terrible wireless performance (LAN tests though are great at 100MB/s+ transfer rates).

I decided to-do some tweaking and found some interesting results.

1) Default socket values = 18MB/s
Code:
socket options = IPTOS_LOWDELAY TCP_NODELAY SO_KEEPALIVE SO_RCVBUF=65536 SO_SNDBUF=65536
2) Doubled Send/Receive buffers = 30MB/s...

Web History No Longer Chronologic

Have the RT-AC3100 router. I understand the RT-AC3100 has been upgraded to the new code branch.

The problem I am having deals with the web history. If I run the last release version of the old branch (380.69._2) my web history stats are fine. Any release under the new branch seems to work fine, with the exception of the web history stats. The time stamp jumps all over the place and it appears to be in no real order.

Is there something else I need to do to make the upgrade work? Maybe...

  • 64GB Lexar USB flash drive attached. NTFS formatted.
  • Firmware RT-N66U_380.69_2
I've enabled the media server and I can access the USB media files from PC media players, TVs, & Android devices.

I've enabled Samba file share so that my Win10 PCs & Android devices can access the USB drive as a file share. My Android devices can see and access it.
But for Win10 PCs, the drive doesn't appear if I open the "Network" icon.
Can anyone please tell me how I...

Hi,

Just hard reset and upgraded from the 380 legacy to the new 384.3. No problems.

Can I upload my router settings on this new firmware? (the router settings were saved based on the 380 legacy). I am worried that I will 'confuse' the firmware etc!
