Bouncing radios

RT-AC88U with firmware 382.1.2.

The radios are constantly bouncing, CPU on core 1 and core 2 alternately go to 100%. I do not see the SSID on my iPhone, iPad, etc.

It was working fine, but I decided to try Enable Smart Connect. It was a mistake to mess with it...

After that, no wireless connectivity.

I noticed then when you enable smart connect, it sets both radios to the same network name. It choose the network name I was using for 5gHz... I decided to set things back the way they were...

Will there be any problems flashing merlin to a Japanese Version of the AC68U?

I went back and checked V25-V30 today John's fork (L & E load s) FW loads did not see any over currents on USB
but on Aimesh FW all 3 loads and merlins 384 alpha and beta I see the over-current
all the USB's I can mount them write to them no problems , no bent pins.
is this a software or hardware problem ????

No NAT Loopback via OpenVPN Server

Hello,

I recently bought an RT-AC86U and flashed it with Merlin 382.1_2 firmware. Everything is checking out great except I can't access my security cam NVR via WAN IP through OpenVPN from mobile device. I can access the NVR via LAN IP when tunneling through VPN but I would prefer to use WAN IP so I don't need multiple logins; the WAN NVR login allows back door access through port-forwarding from qualified IP white list...

When I start the OpenVPN session the status page shows virtual IP...

RT-AC66U: increased stability after replacing power supply

I don't think this explicitly relates to the Merlin firmware, but that's what I'm running so I figured I'd mention it here. My RT-AC66Us have been unstable for months. Random reboots, incredible slowdowns to 1-2mbit/s every day (or even multiple times an hour if I was unlucky enough) requiring either a reboot or running restart_wireless over ssh, complete instability when trying to use CTF, etc. I didn't think my power adapters were faulty as I have 4 of these routers (only 2 in use...

I'm trying to install ENT-WARE on my router. It's an AC2900 running Merlin 382.1_2.
I'm following the instructions on the wiki https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin/wiki/Entware

The problem is, when I insert the USB drive the Asus says "Partition 1 has different physical/logical beginnings (non-Linux?):"
In fact, it says that for all partitions. I tried to format the USB drive with the disk manager in the...

Router was down today after the overnight reboot... Discovered when I found clients - both Win10 and iOS devices - getting redirected to the "Quick Internet Setup" screen.

Clients were perceiving that a network login was required, so on the iOS devices the behavior was that "pre-wifi-connect" screen that you see before fully adding the wifi adapter and routes, on the Win box a regular browser window was opened to the QIS screen.

On the QIS screen the router then was prompting to Enter...

ROBLOX causing reboot?

I have an RT-N66u running latest John's fork 30E2. My kids play ROBLOX and it seems to be causing my router to reboot whenever they play (If I keep them off ROBLOX the router is solid). I suspect that the router believes it is encountering a DDOS or port sweep type attempt, but my logs aren't persistent across reboots. I believe ROBLOX tries to hit various UDP ports during certain parts of the game. I wanted to reply to this thread below, but it was a bit dated:...

Signature update failed AC68U

Trying to get the Trend Micro signature file to update on this router and having no luck. I suspect the Asus hosted update files are missing but would love some independent confirmation. I wasn't sure whether to post here or in the AC router section but I'm running Merlin 380.69_2 so I guess I'll start here.

When I go to Administration -> Firmware Update and hit the Check button next to the Signature Version (I'm currently on 1.110) it shows Signature Checking... and a spinning circle for...

Reporting based on 380.69_2 (on RT-N66R), but I've observed this in the previous versions as well:

1. Page /Main_TrafficMonitor_realtime.asp
The link to "Traffic Monitor FAQ" is broken.

2. I don't know if this is intentional or accidental: When you are installing a new version of the firmware, the message says that it takes at least 3 minutes to...

[Request] "Advertise router's IP in addition to user-specified DNS" with IPv6

The "Advertise router's IP in addition to user-specified DNS" setting only applies to IPv4. Is there a way to get this setting to also work with IPv6?

John's fork already has a separate toggle for IPv6, but 5GHz is not stable on my router with that firmware for some reason.

OpenVPN Client / Notification when loosing public IP

Hello

I have the problem, that a OpenVPN client on my RT-AC86U (Merlin 382.1_2) looses the public IP from time to time.

It would be a very good feature, to receive an email if this happens. Is there a possibility to set this up? Script?

Ok, just to start off I want to mention I mostly know what I am doing with networking equipment (I actually have a degree). Not going to claim I know everything there is to know though.

This also happened with the 382.2_Beta2 FYI.
Kids frequently watch YouTube videos on our first gen FireStick (via a browser since YouTube disable the app...) After I upgraded to the previous beta I noticed it kept hanging in the middle of the video, and there was no way to get it to keep going. Going back to...

First of all, i would like to thanks for this wonderful project. I don't know if this was reported already (searched but couldn't find anything) but since the .69_2 flashing i've lost some range on my 5Ghz. After i've reverted to 380.69, everything went back to normal again.

Hi! Today morning my installation of rutorrent in my asus [AC3100] with Merlin 382.1_2 firmware dont allow me to access. I do not touch anything in conf files. I cech and the password file and all modules are installed very well.
