Centurylink 1Gbps WAN Speed 1/2 what it should be

I have a rt-ac1900p running merlin 380.68.4 and my download speeds never exceed 500Mbps where as my upload speeds usually get to around 900Mbps .
In the switch control I can see the following

NAT Acceleration CTF (Cut Through Forwarding) is enabled.

So I have CTF enabled...I have qos off, AI off, what else am I missing here to get my max DL speed...One additional piece of info I have IPTV set for Manual and the VID set to 201 so I don't use CL modem and connect directly to...

AC5300 migrated to 384!

Hello,

I see that recently AC5300 has been officially migrated to 384. I haven't seen an alpha pre-release build version for it on that thread. I tried to search the forum but found nothing (probably due to incompetence rather than absence of information). Do we know if there are plans for a new version of Merlin for that model?

Bouncing radios

RT-AC88U with firmware 382.1.2.

The radios are constantly bouncing, CPU on core 1 and core 2 alternately go to 100%. I do not see the SSID on my iPhone, iPad, etc.

It was working fine, but I decided to try Enable Smart Connect. It was a mistake to mess with it...

After that, no wireless connectivity.

I noticed then when you enable smart connect, it sets both radios to the same network name. It choose the network name I was using for 5gHz... I decided to set things back the way they were...

System user/password change strangeness

I made the mistake of paying attention to AiProtection Network Protection, which suggested that I change my default router login username and password.

Actually, I already had a very secure password, but was still using "admin". I *guess* it was complaining because of "admin".

Should have left it alone, as I don't enable over WAN, and I don't have any open wireless.

Nevertheless, I changed both the username and password and applied. I generated a secure password with LastPass, saved my...

OpenVPN Client / Notification when loosing public IP

Hello

I have the problem, that a OpenVPN client on my RT-AC86U (Merlin 382.1_2) looses the public IP from time to time.

It would be a very good feature, to receive an email if this happens. Is there a possibility to set this up? Script?

As the title of the thread states I need assistance with adding FW rules to my N66U to try and alleviate outbound connections from my IP cams. I logged onto my router web interface today and went to the WAN tab and looked up "Active Connections" and notice two of my ip cams are connecting to a China ip.

My firmware is Merlin 380.64_2. I do not have any open ports and have turned off all connections on both router (UPnP) and the individual cams (UPnP, P2P, Bonjour, etc) and even use...

I have started to use Pihole to block internet adverts. Pihole also has an ability to be the DHCP server which I have enabled for a number of reasons, (and disabled the RT-AC66U DHCP server)

This set up works great on the private network, but not for the guest network. This is because “Access Intranet” is set of “Off”, I need this from a security requirement. Obviously, the users on the guest network can’t access the DHCP server… so the guest network is useless, because these...

Hi, just wanted to let you know that manual assignment in DHCP doesn't work and the "enable manual assignment" button has no effect. Turning it to no does not stop manual assignment. Also, I constantly get disconnected from my DLNA media server with this router for some reason :(. The last issue I noticed is the "Redirect webui access to router.asus.com" radial button does not redirect to router.asus.com when enabled.

P.S. Thank you for fixing the crashing issue in this latest update. MUCH...

firstly I want to mention that I am not really into linux, so please be patient. I only know the basics.

Salve!
Please assume I know nothing, you won't go far wrong. I use my Asus RT-AC87U router out of the box & I try not to mess with it.
However, it keeps doing this mad thing at random intervals & I need to stop it. What happens is that everything is going along fine with Internet access behaving normally then suddenly a user on any one of our home devices will report there's no Internet access. Help After Factory Reset

Hello,

Yesterday i did a factory reset and now i have 2 thing that i<m not sure how to fix

1 - I need to switch my external HDD to /mnt/sdb1 because after the factory it seeing it has /mnt/sda1

2 - I have another external drive with AB-Solution and entware but after i reboot i get cannot write read only file system or something like that. I took another USB and reinstall then reboot .... Same problem... Help :)!

Hello everyone. Sorry for my poor english. I have an asus RT-AC87U router, firmware is Merlin 380.69_2.
My notebook's wi-fi adapter is Intel AC8260. So problem is in low read\write speed through wi-fi with on connected hard drive with NTFS file system to the router ( about 30mb\s read and 20 mb\sec write), but with the stock firmware about 50 mb\sec on both sides (read and write) through wi - fi. Protocol is SMB. Also through LAN cable connected to notebook speed is high ( 60 mb\sec on...

Entware-3x is new version of Entware optimized for 3.x and 4.x linux kernels. It is based on Entware-ng but can be used only on firmwares with 3.x and 4.x linux kernels.
