BGW-210 with route behind Static IPS

Let me first say I appreciate everyone's input from the beginning and yes I have searched and spent time on the horn with ATT. I get a different answer and result from nearly everyone I know of.

I am trying to setup BGW-210 -> Asus RT66U -> Manage Switch -> Servers (w/static IP block)

I do have a /29 block and have a pretty good knowledge of layer1/2/3 technology and terminology. But I think I am trying to either overcomplicate this, been looking at it too long, or just am missing...

Hello,

I recently bought an RT-AC86U and flashed it with Merlin 382.1_2 firmware. Everything is checking out great except I can't access my security cam NVR via WAN IP through OpenVPN from mobile device. I can access the NVR via LAN IP when tunneling through VPN but I would prefer to use WAN IP so I don't need multiple logins; the WAN NVR login allows back door access through port-forwarding from qualified IP white list...

When I start the OpenVPN session the status page shows virtual IP...

Hello,

Today, my router's 5GHz radio quit working. It is only connected to one device which is a Netgear EX7000 extender (with fast-lane enabled). Everything on the extended network quit working altogether. I tried connecting a laptop direct to the router, but accessing the web page indicated that the device was not made by Asus. I reset the device manually and everything rebooted okay and is working normally again. I checked the system logs after it rebooted, and I found that prior to the...

Trying to get the Trend Micro signature file to update on this router and having no luck. I suspect the Asus hosted update files are missing but would love some independent confirmation. I wasn't sure whether to post here or in the AC router section but I'm running Merlin 380.69_2 so I guess I'll start here.

When I go to Administration -> Firmware Update and hit the Check button next to the Signature Version (I'm currently on 1.110) it shows Signature Checking... and a spinning circle for...

I have recently updated to 380.69_2 and have been unable to update signature since.
I have factory reset and manually inputted my configuration and this has still not helped.
Can anyone help please?

2017 in review

2017 is almost over already. The whole year has been a blur for me (in particular due to major changes in my professional life). This has been another interesting year for Asuswrt-Merlin, for multiple reasons. First of all, 2017 marked the 5th anniversary of this project. This milestone was reached last April, however I was too busy with other things at the time so I completely missed it. So here's a belated happy birthday to us!

Apologies for posting this if it has been asked already and apologies if I don't use the correct terminology.

I want to connect each of the below devices through different servers. Assume it will be the only devices that will be used on this router (Asus RT-n66u on Merlin 380.67):
Devices - iPhone, Android phone, Smart TV, NAS, Work Laptop

Client 1 - VPN on New Zealand Server for iPhone

Client 2 - VPN on Australian Server for Android phone

Client 3 - VPN on US server for Smart TV...

Multiple VPN clients active for different devices

LAN > LAN IP update issues

I have an AC68U running 380.69_2, and am in the process of setting it to replace an older router. As such, I have to change the router's IP address from time to time to setup, and then test it on the existing network. Lately (I feel like since updating from 380.69_0 firmware a few days ago) when I change the LAN IP via the web GUI, it does not reliably change the IP address. Last time, it took 3 attempts to get it to "take". Currently, I can't get it to take a new IP address at all....

Simple QoS advice needed please

Hello folks - I would appreciate some advice on using QoS on my AC86U running Merlin 382.1_2.

I have never had to use QoS before as I just left all my devices to get on with it as the router saw fit but I now need to prioritize one device over all others.

The situation is that we have a relatively slow internet connection of 6.0Mbps down, 0.7Mbps up, most devices are wired through a Netgear switch to the router and there are only three wireless devices... iPhone, iPod and now, HomePod....

380.69_2 on AC5300 locked up

I installed this newest firmware less than a week ago and last night my internet stopped on all devices, and I also could not log into the router itself. Had to power it off and on. Its all working now, but I had to reset all of my logging which was being saved to an external drive. I guess it got corrupted and it would not connect to it.

I had been previously running the second latest firmware for weeks, if not months, with no issues.

I am running RT-AC68U 380.69_2, and I use a script to assign wl0.1, wl0.2, wl0.3 to different VLAN's. My /jffs/scripts/services-start includes:

This works great, but if the wireless is power cycled, it re-assigns the wl0.x's to br0 again. This occurred "randomly" last night, but also by pushing the button on the case (not by radio off and...

OpenVPN Client / Notification when loosing public IP

Hello

I have the problem, that a OpenVPN client on my RT-AC86U (Merlin 382.1_2) looses the public IP from time to time.

It would be a very good feature, to receive an email if this happens. Is there a possibility to set this up? Script?

Slow laptop with RT-AC86U

I'm using a RT-AC86U with Merlin's beta2. When I check my laptop speed on speedtest.net, I'm lucky to get 30Mbps down. My service is capped at 60Mbps. All other wireless devices on my network have no problem hitting the cap.
For fun, i flashed my old N66U with John's latest fork. My laptop hit 60Mbps. I checked the settings between the two routers and they appear to be the same.
Is this just a case of my laptop working better with the older 2.4GHz drivers?

What I am about to explain in detail was discovered after I installed the latest beta 2 firmware from Merlin and directly after I uninstalled a Windows 10 VPN client called CyberGhost. So updated Merlin, then immediately uninstalled CyberGhost VPN Windows 10 client.

I discovered a network adapter on my PC and the name was called Incoming Connections. Mind you I have never seen this before. I double clicked it and it said no clients connected. Did some research and found out it's for...

Think maybe my Asus AC1900P with Merlin Firmware has been compromised. Need some help .
