So I have a little problem. I use my cable TV service to watch TV while on the road. But some of the channels will not allow someone to watch live TV unless connected to the local network. So while I was in the States, I set up an OpenVPN server and downloaded the certificate. When I was out of the house, all I had to do was start an OpenVPN connection into my RT-N66U and the "not on local network" restriction was gone.
Now I'm sitting here in Thailand, and the exact same procedure does...

I have an Asus RT-AC87U with Asus-Merlin ver 380.68_4
I have researched a lot into how to separate the wireless from the lan subnet, and have the wireless at the same time on a different vlan, but all I can find is people asking to use their router as a switch having separate vlans on the ports.
I have seen people using robocfg and vconfig to do this, and I'm not afraid to do the same, I know my way into the cli, but I don't know how to separate the wireless interface wl0.1 or...

No Rescue Mode (Semi Solved)
Hello all,
I've been working on trying to update my TM-AC1900 router to the latest Merlin for hours now with much frustration. I also woke up to another issue but more on that after a little back story.
I bought this router a couple of months ago and have already flashed it to Merlin 380.68_4. Everything went smoothly and I had no issues with the instructions. The router had been working great, except for some WiFi range issues. I was still getting good speeds, so it did not bother me much....

Problem Installing Pixelserv-tls through AB Solution
I'm having some trouble installing Pixelserv-tls through the menu in AB Solution. I have Entware installed. My DHCP server assigns addresses from 100 to 199 and my NAS is on 250. I tried with the 240 address and get the same error. Has anyone else experienced this? Any solutions?

since two weeks I have two vDSL connections at home, both the same speed: 50/10Mbit. I use the Dual WAN function of my ASUS RT-AC87U, so WAN1 is connected to the WAN Port, WAN2 to LAN2 (for some reason I cannot use LAN1, maybe someone could tell me why).
I use load balancing as Dual WAN option and my idea is to spread all clients with routing rules even to each WAN. I do this because Dual WAN makes it almost impossible to browse the internet or use services like Skype, Facetime...

I have 4 Spotify connect clients: FireTV (LAN), Chromestick (LAN), AVR-Receivevr (LAN) and DAB-Radio (LAN-Connect to WLAN-Bridge), and some other devices like an IoT weather / dust-sensor.
All have static IP via DHCP by the AC88U (Manul assigned)
My Problem: sometimes I cannot connect from my tablet, smartphone, laptop, PC to that devices.

I've just updated my RT-AC87U to v380.69 and did a reset/fresh start but now a settings button no longer works "under lan/dhcp/assign ip address around dhcp" when I add a client to the reservation list and click the plus button nothing happens ? but by del the host name, then clicking the plus button it works.
Chrome browser is unaffected
Hope someone can try it out and tell me if it's just me or a bug in the new...

Recently I had very strange problem with Skype, which I never used during last 6-7 years
I am a road warrior, so I set-up a private OpenVPN server on my home router. The server is in TAP mode. The client is Windows 10 laptop. I would like to connect more than 1 USB 3.0 hard drive to my ASUS RT-AC87U router. I use mine for backing up files on my network and would love to be able to connect up 3 different drives at the same time on the USB 3.0 port. I already have one connected to the USB 2.0 port but the transfer speed is very slow.

Can't mount 4TB on RT-AC5300 w EXT4
I recently purchases a Seagate Backup Plus 4TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive, model STFM4000100. The drive will mount as NTFS, but I cannot get it to mount when formatted as EXT4. I have verified that the drive is using GPT when formated as EXT4. The drive will mount in Ubuntu 17.04. I've also tried formatting with different tools.
