[Release 380] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.69 is now available

Asuswrt-Merlin 380.69 is now available for all supported models.

This is a bugfix release for the legacy 380 codebase. New features are no longer getting added to the 380.xx releases, as primary development was shifted to the new 382.xx series.

Highlights of changes since 380.68_4:

  • Updated wireless SDK for the RT-N66U and RT-AC66U, fixing KRACK vulnerability in repeater and media bridge mode.
  • Added option to disable Asus's NAT Tunnel (backported from 382)...

RT-AC87U - Kernel panic

Recently purchased a new AC87U (use to have AC66U) immediately upgrade to 380.68_4 and get everything reconfigured. last week, for the first time installed AB-Solution (v3.9.2), which so far appears to be working great. Reviewing the system messages last night, I noticed the router rebooted itself apparently from a Kernel panic. Searched and saw some recent threads about possibly a corrupt usb drive could cause this... which would coincide with the recently installed AB.

Thoughts on root...

NAT loopback throughput limiting FTP transfers

Background: I have an RT-AC68U with 380.69. I have an ftp server set up in passive mode, with the passive ip address response fixed to my public IP address. In order to use the ftp on my lan, I have to connect using the public ip insted of lan ip otherwise I get an error about TLS connection being not properly terminated. I'm assuming this has to do with the ftp server responding with the src address as my public ip once in passive mode. Not exactly sure.

Good Day RMerlin team,

I have an RT5300 connected to Verizon FIOS 1024/1024 Mbps via CAT6 direct to the ONT. On the LAN side I have several hardwired devices and a few WiFi devices. Since upgrading to the 1G/1G pipe I have been experiencing odd behavior from the router, doesn't matter if I use stock firmware or RMerlin, same problem. Hello,
im using Merlin 380.68_4 on RT-N66U and I noticed two problems with VPN. Need some advice or help. Im using OpenVPN client with "Redirect Internet traffic Policy Rules (strict)" and "Block routed clients if tunnel goes down" in rules I have clients added with Iface VPN, and it works fine clients connect with VPN... but when I restart router:
1. OpenVPN don't reconnect auto (is there any way to make him do it auto?) there is set connection retry to 5 seconds, but it look like it apply...

I installed version 380.68_4 of Asuswrt-Merlin on my RT-AC68U. Most of the family does not want to learn how to use VPNs, so I want to route all the devices in the house through a default VPN connection except my PC. I'll use VPN client software on my computer.

Hi,

Running Merlin 380.63_2 on my AC68U.
I have setup a Namecheap ddns in the Asus settings, and also created a ddns-start in /jffs/scripts/ (also activated custom JFFS scripts in settings).
The ddns-start looks like this:

Hello,

I use a Asus RT-3200 router behind my isp router that I can't setup in Bridge mode ...

I wanna use a ddns service from NO-IP.com

I have the follow error what I understand

The wireless router currently uses a private WAN IP address.
This router may be in the multiple-NAT environment and DDNS service cannot work in this environment.

I have read many post about it but seems it can be fixed with a custome script

VPN Problems with 380.69 on AC87U

Once upgraded, VPN stopped working because of AUTH_FAILED error and the only way to fix it was do hard-reset ( https://www.snbforums.com/threads/r...in-380-69-is-now-available.42697/#post-364064 )

It looked the issue was solved, but it's not. Almost every hour VPN connection stops working and the only way to get it up is Disable/Enable VPN client. Looking at logs, I found OpenVPN re-establishes connection every hour:

RT-AC5300 IPv6 Stops Working and IPv6 DNS Setting

Running Merlin 380.68_4 on an RT-Ac5300. Enabling IPv6 works fine for a while. Then after several hours the IPv6 interface on the RT-AC5300 stops working. No response to IPv6 ping and of course no DNS. Have to reboot the router to re-gain IPv6 connectivity.

Also, I've set the manual IPv6 DNS servers to Google's but the DHCPv6 still hands the RT-AC5300's internal IPv6 interface as the only IPv6 DNS server. I've got "Advertise router's IP in addition to user-specified DNS" set to "No"...

So to solve all the problems with installing dnscrypt with entware (or similar) then setting up various scripts to handle dnscrypt-proxy starting up including the ntp issue, I made my own installer for dnscrypt-proxy.

Requirements:
- ARM or MIPSEL based ASUS routers
- asuswrt-merlin firmwares or compatible
- jffs support and script enabled

Incompatibilities:
- No known issue

- Running as nobody through...

Hello all,
I've been working on trying to update my TM-AC1900 router to the latest Merlin for hours now with much frustration. I also woke up to another issue but more on that after a little back story.

I bought this router a couple of months ago and have already flashed it to Merlin 380.68_4. Everything went smoothly and I had no issues with the instructions. The router had been working great, except for some WiFi range issues. I was still getting good speeds, so it did not bother me much....

Hello,

I am able to find only tidbits of info attesting to the reliability and stability of Merlin 382 on the Asus RT-AC86U.

Can some of you with the above hardware set-up weigh in with your overall impression and experience especially with the OpenVPN client performance.

Wifi problems with iPhone X when connected to 5 Ghz band

I’m having issues with my iPhone X when connected to the 5 Ghz band on a ASUS RT-AC3200 (latest RMerlin FW). The wifi disconnects or dropping and this only happens to my iPhone X. I have 5 other iDevices at home without any problems.

I’ve reported this to Apple but just thought if anyone had some tricks to solve it. I have done all troubleshooting on the iPhone but no better results.

Hi all,

I apologize if this has been discussed here before. I couldn't find much information about this anywhere. I only remember I have read someone (couldn't find that thread now) said disable this function would increase performance, which agrees to the explanation in the firmware. But I was confused. What's point of having more free RAM if it's not for performance? Can someone explain what this function really achieve? Should I keep it on of off?

My router is a TM-AC1900 running Merlin...

Regularly flush caches. What is this? On or Off?
