Limiting Time (hours per day) is it possible?

Hi

Is it at all possible to limit not just the hours within a day a device can access but the number of hours as well

for example i want my kids to have access to the PC's for 9am - 9pm but I only want them having 2 hours during that timeframe

this would be killer for me :)

Local IP history?

Hi, sorry if this has been already answered, but I couldn't find it in the forum.

Is there a way to get the IP history of the LAN clients (when the router is the DHCP provider). I see a lot of traffic to local 192.168.1.15 in the syslog (from firewall), but that device with that IP is not online anymore. Is there a place I can look to see which MAC had that IP recently?

Note: I have NAT acceleration enabled (which means Traffic Monitor just showing the traffic by interface, not by IP)

Expanding Wifi Range

I have a rt-n66u installed with Merlin firmware installed.

I will be moving to a 3000+sq ft house and in Canada, houses are mainly made of drywall and wood (I'm sinplifying it ;)

I want to extend the range of my wifi so that I can ensure there is wifi across the house. I'm planning to have internet directly hooked to the tv because I use chromecast and android tv for all my tv consumption.

So problem is the router will be in a corner of the house on the main floor and to extend wifi...

Before this problem not happened, but after upgrade to 380.62 all name of units connect are not show:

also if in lan under servr-dhcp i set the name of units connect.

Also in guest wireless its impossible set a password

Asus rt-68u no internet connection with last merlin build

Hi there,

after a long go i was able to install latest (RT-AC68U_380.61_0.zip) but i not get any Connection to my ISP 3bb VDSL Thailand. The automatic connection not working the circle run and run and not stop. Setup maual is also not work because i can not select what connection i like to use VDSL or ADSL. Revert back to last Asus original build work fine. i test already older merlin builds but have same problem. Have anyone idea how to get a VDSL Connection?

Double NAT custom DDNS script

Double NAT custom DDNS script

I have made a double NAT custom DDNS script for asus router (and possibly others as well) working for DDNS provider NOIP. The issues with double NAT is that our asus router does not report the external IP, only the ip reported for the WAN interface. For that reason it is necessary to perform a lookup on an external site (http://icanhazip.com/ and http://ipv4.myip.dk for backup).

AP mode with DDNS

I have been trying to find a way to setup DDNS in AP mode on my AC66U with Merlin FW. I have a Verizon FOIS modem/router, and I only use RT-AC66U wifi router. The wifi function on my modem is turn off. I have tried ASUS , Tomato Shibby, DD-WRT and Lerlin's FW. I was able to get Shibby FW/DD-WRT working. However, DDNS function is turn off in both ASUS and Merlin FW. Is there anyway to turn it on or maybe script?

OpenVPN RT-N66U Certificate

I've set up the OpenVPN Server on my RT-N66U with Merlin (latest).

I'm inexperienced with this and I'm just wondering if I need to generate a certificate in order to use the VPN securely? And if so where is the best place I can fnd instructions for generating your own certificate?

The client I am using is the OpenVPN iOS App on my iPad (iOS 10).

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Traffic Manager - Saves one month only

Hey there,
I've an Asus RT-N66U running Asuswert-Merlin 380.59 (which I only discovered about 6 weeks ago!)
I've enabled traffic monitoring and saving the data to an attached USB hard drive.
It is saving a to the hard drive ( I can see the file, *.gz), however, Traffic monitor only shows the current month, not previous months in the monthly summary - there should at least be some data for August).
Is there anything else I need to enable to create an ongoing history?

Hi,
I'm running 380.59 on a RT-AC68U.

I'm using OpenVPN client to connect to a VPN server in germany.
If I start a video on my Samsung TV using the "Amazon Instant Video" app, I get a popup that the video cannot be started due to geolocation restrictions.
I afraid that amazon is using google's geolocation api. Because if I check my last activities in my google account, I'm supposedly located in the United States.
I was already checking the IP I got from my VPN provider on different webpages...

Using Asus RT AC66U in Wireless Router mode as Access Point

So I would like to use my RT AC66U as Access Point. However, the AP mode have some of the features disabled, like Traffic monitoring and AiCloud. Is it possible to use it in Wireless Router mode as Access Point without any impact on performance?

Just thought I'd post my config because I've seen this several different ways, some of which involved several ports or whitelisting massive chunks of Amazon IP Addresses.

I'm using Merlin 380.61 on my AC-3100 (Ac-88u) and have been for a month without issue until today when something really weird started happening on both my iOS devices (which have been on iOS 10 for a week) at the same time.

I noticed some web pages were timing out occasionally so I decided to run some tests and found that IPv6 test sometimes passed and sometimes failed. Even when they passed it took a long time for them to complete. I tried switching to cellular data (IPv6 works over...

Hi,

I use a VDSL connection in the UK and use a vdsl modem with originally my asus rt-ac87u behind it which was runing the latest release (non beta) of merlin. My router has a fixed ip from the ISP and I monitor this via a couple of external latency/ping monitors and up till the start of the month everything seemed normal. The 87U had been in place for some time and never had issues with ping time outs or latency problems when external monitors are checking my IP.

At the start of the month...
