HTTPS access to RT-N66U (merlin's fw)

If i use HTTPS to access my router's management web page from LAN, i get warning that certificate is invalid, chain broken. In short - default certificate in firmware is incorrect. Also, HTTPS access works very slowly, i suspect due to broken certificate chain.
How can i fix that?
I understand i can install correct certificate but i have no idea how to generate correct certificate, i suppose i also need a CA?
I found good instructions how to install certificate in router but they all...

RT-AC3200

This seems to be a pattern, wondering if anyone got any ideas to troubleshoot? Don't think got anything too esoteric running, outside of SMB sharing/Time machine. Which seem to stop working properly when this happens too.

Router is still routing traffic fine, but after around 7-8 days uptime, it will no longer fully login, and network drive sharing also stops working.

When logging into web admin, the login page appears, but once put in name/password, the next screen never...

Can't login to router, still routing.

Is Portforward broken in 380.61?

Hello,

I've found possibly what could be an issue with 380.61, I've been running it since release and the port forwarding option along side it without issue. Earlier last week it just stopped working, I'll add entries after so many it will just automactically delete ALL the entries after I add so many, therefore I've had to disable it in my router.

Could anyone else running the same FW confirm theirs work still or facing a similar issue?

The last few releases, i've noticed problems with dropped connections from my wireless laptop on 5GHz. They last a minute or so before my laptop re-connects. I thought it was a wireless issue but when i've got my putty session up at work, it too can lose the connection despite the server being wired to the router through a couple of switches. This didn't happen when I first flashed merlin ddwrt with 378.56_2, but im running 380.61 now and its been happening with the wireless at least...

Hi guys, im not a IT person. im just wanna have the best out of my internet. My ISP speed is 1gbs fibre. im using a asus AC56u. 5g wise im getting decent speed of 240mbs(speedtest) but my 2.4g only at 40mbs. my mum is using a AC56s but her 2.4g is always at around 120-140mbs. is it somehing wrong with my settings? im using merlin firmware 380.61.

RT-66U - 380.61 - No Failover data flow

Hi...

Just upgraded my RT-66U to 380.61 and went to setup Duel Wan Failover with WAN and PART4 as WAN. It will failover to the second WAN port, but it will not pass data. It just says WAITING FOR "whateversite". If I put back the WAN1, it goes back and works just fine.

The 2nd WAN port (port 4) does show correct information in regards to the DHCP settings it receives from the Internet connection. (Raspberry Pi2 acting as a router handling out DHCP that then connects to a JetPack via...

Good day, all - first post, newbie here, so please be gentle if I've missed an FAQ stickied somewhere I've not discovered yet...

Is anyone out there using their entware-equipped router as a cjdns node on a meshnet?
What do I need to be aware of if I'm pondering the same?

Hello all,

I recently upgraded to CFE 1.0.2.1 because I couldn't go higher than 378.55 while on 2.1.2.5...My question is: If I upgraded to 1.0.2.1 while on 378.55, then went directly to 380.61...did my rootfs get resized to 64MB?

I need moar embeez! (Kidding, I don't)...but I just want to be sure that I took the right steps. Can I check the size? Because if I run df -h I get 30.5M for the /...


Also, in 380.61, www.google-ddns.com = Google Domains?...

RT-AC68U max file size?

I have an ASUS RT-AC68U on order which I plan to plug a USB3 stick into formatted as EXT4 and share over the network using NFS.

I found this link http://event.asus.com/2009/networks/disksupport/ talking about supported file systems and sizes but it has no mention of max file size on EXT4 but 8gb is mentioned a lot for everything else. Some of the files mainly films can and are over 8gb so is this an issue?

Also are the NFS settings tweakable? I currently use Hanewin NFS from my...

Hi all,

Why doesn't this give me access to SSH from the public IP (WAN-side of the Asus router) ? I have enabled SSH on the LAN-side of the router (Administration / System / SSH Daemon / "Enable SSH" = "LAN only", hence I'm assuming an SSHD-server is running, also because I can SSH to the router from 192.168.1.XXX)?

Question on Traffic Analyzer - Statistic

Is it possible to view traffic statistics of each client per week or month
With the current view, i am able to see it for Daily, the moment i select Monthly or Weekly, the usage drop down menu changes to 'All Apps' and shows stats per apps & protocols which is not helpful.

I would request if this feature can be enabled in future releases.

Hi All,

I am running Merlin's code on my AC66U. So far, I happily used a number of cool features, including a guest wlan for potential visitors.
Today, I need something a bit more complex, as I work from home and have often colleagues visit me that need to connect to the net.
I would like to have 2 or 3 separate LANs (Home / Work / Guests) that the AC66 can easily do with "guest wireless" but with additional requirements :
- share a printer between all LANs
- have wired connections for...

Hi there,

Currently using the latest firmware v380.61.

I am running the OpenVPN server and found a peculiar issue.
The list of users appears to have one row that cannot be deleted and password is blank.
Is this a bug? Any workaround to remove this row and start again from the UI to add new users?
I've tried adding other users first but there is no "minus sign" for the that persistent first row.

i had set Reboot Scheduler on 5am every day, so sometimes wifi doesn't work after those reboots it might be only 5ghz not working or even both 2.5 and 5

i did tried also factory reset.

Media Bridge setup AC68U

I use 2 AC68 - one as AP, the 2nd as media-bridge.

After some time, some hosts on the media-bridge side of the network will not be able to ping the AP nor other internet hosts.
The situation can only be resolved for some time by rebooting the AP.

Is the number of hosts for a media bridge limited somehow ?!?!

E.g. :

[cable modem] <--> RT-AC68U as AP , IP .1 <--> RT-AC68U in bridge mode , IP .2 <---> some PCs .3/.5

While .3 has still access to the internet .5 looses it now and then.

TM1900@68U acts as switch, no NVRAM reset, can get to CFE

Successfully got a TM1900 running as a 68U on 380.61 (in AP mode with a 66U routing in my study), at least for a few days.

For the last few days the router acts only like a switch. Put simply, it doesn't look like it gets out of the CFE loader and into linux.

I can't reset NVRAM with any published method (clearly I know how since I had to during the process of getting to Merlin).
After releasing the WPS button, the lights turn off, but in three seconds or so the power and network are back...

TM1900@68U acts as switch, no NVRAM reset, can get to CFE

Traffic Analyzer isn't working properly since update to 380.59?

I recently updated to 380.59 (from 376.49) and I noticed that the Traffic Analyzer is behaving oddly. It appears to be overcounting my uplink bandwidth.

For example, this is what it's showing for Thursday.

2016-07-07 85.19 GB 83.84 GB 169.02 GB

83GB upload isn't possible since I'm on a 1Mbit uplink!

Any ideas as to what might be causing this?

Weird DNS problem (RT-AC68U running 380.59)

Thanks to all for the tips for updating my RT-AC68U from a very old build.

But unfortunately, the problem that I was trying to fix didn't go away. Every few hours, it appears that the DNS on the router goes down. Connectivity is lost and remains this way for around 10 minutes. I don't see anything odd in the System Log.

I can usually restore connectivity if I toggle the WAN DNS...
