I have the above router, and i want to use the Open VPN client that is built in So i can use PIA Vpn on it. but no matter what Settings i use it just will not work and its annoying the heck out of me.

So is there by chance Any merlin firmware that will work with this router?

Virtual Server / Port Forwarding - No data in table.

Hello.
After upgrading my AC3200 from .60 to .61 I lost all my port forwardings.
This is not such a big deal. The problem really is, when I create new ones, they
don't stick any more.
Creating one generally is ok, but when I create a second one, they both disappear.

Wireless GUI issues

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone else is having issues with the wireless tab in their Asus routers?

I have 2x AC87u's, and both are frequently having issues since 380.59 firmware in that basically it's like the whole page when you click on the wireless tab, is shoved up enough that all of the tabs at the top are cut off, and the apply button won't work.

Every other tab or part of the firmware works perfectly, but I am unable to change any wifi settings when this happens.

Ethernet WAN works but not recognized in router mode

My internet connection comes from an ethernet port behind a router/modem from my ISP (satellite internet, not sure exactly how it works). They've set their router to open and forward all ports to my asus 66U router. As long as I set the default gateway of the DHCP server on my router to the ip address of my ISP's router, nearly everything works perfectly. I can manage my own DHCP and assign my own LAN addresses, forward ports to them, set DNS server, etc.

Why doesn't Port Triggering work anymore?

Good morning folks!

Why has this feature stopped working within the WAN section? It used to work, I am running the latest build; .61 on a RT-AC68U.

I've had this problem before but with older firmware it has worked fine. I know I have the option to port forward, but I would like to use the Port Trigger, and yes I am aware I have the option of UPNP but I do not want that enabled.

Would there be a chance of a fix in the next release?

Script for starting/stopping QOS on RT-AC87U

I'm looking for a way to start/stop QOS on my RT-AC87U on specific times of day. Has anybody on this board been able to use a script and configure cron jobs to start/stop QOS on their router? I have unlimited usage with my ISP between 2 am and 2 pm everyday. I would like to have my bandwidth limiter QOS only be active between 2 pm and 2 am every day. I'm currently using the latest stable version of Asuswrt-Merlin (380.61). I would appreciate any help you could provide. Thanks!

Does Merlin implement WiFi client mode routing? I'm used to this feature in DD-WRT and didn't find it with a quick search, weird feature to describe really, hope you know what I mean. To be clear this needs to be per radio

RT-AC68U and RT-AC88U Random freezes

So I posted this problem several months ago on my RT-AC88U and it is now happening on my AC68U at another location.

Briefly, the AC88U randomly froze every 2-7 days on Merlins firmware several months ago. All devices (wireless/hardwire) will lose network connectivity although all lights on the router are on. Rebooting the router temporarily resolves the issue. I tried reflashing, resetting and manually entering all settings with no luck for a month. I had a suspicion that it may be the...

Spin down problem?

Hello,

Im noticing a strange problem with my rt-n66u trying to spin down the attached external hdd WD Elements 2.5".

The drive is mounted as sda, but sd-idle gets the following error:

Aug 17 23:31:38 sd-idle-2.6[878]: spinning down /dev/sdb
Aug 17 23:31:38 sd-idle-2.6[878]: Failure to open /dev/sdb for spinning down: No medium found

The hdd is not going down anyway.

Im using 380.58 version of merlinwrt.

Any ideas how to solve this?

hello, i am trying to create firewall rule but can`t get to work. my router lan IP address is 192.168.15.1, IPTV is set on PC with IP 192.168.15.100. so this rule is working if IPTV set on router and not working when is IPTV set on PC....

I'm unable to put much time on this project these days due to personal reasons, but I figured it was past time that I at least wrap up the current development code and issue an official release. Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 is now available for all supported models. This release adds support for the RT-AC88U, RT-AC3100 and RT-AC5300.

I have been at it for weeks. So is time for me to post and ask for help.
I have a RT-AC5300 with Merlin 380.61 which I'll be using as an AP. As we all know, the ac5300 has 3 wireless. I need to vlan each PHYS wireless with one port each. Not virtual wireless. I was able to getting working on DD-WRT, but the throughput and wireless signal was weak. Hi I have the latest Merlin 380.61 firmware installed and although QOS Bandwidth limiter (SFQ) is working for many clients it seems my daughter has been able to download 800MB an hour of youtube videos when I have limited her to 0.5Mb download? in theory she should only be able to download a max 225MB an hour and not sure how this could happen. I am on a capped 4g connection and the kids can burn through that allowance pretty easily so need to limit them. It does seem to limit other...
