Virtual Servers not refreshing after apply changes and reboot?

My router is a Asus RTN66U running Asus Merlin 380.59_0.

When I edit port forwarding rules on the WAN tab (Advanced Settings/WAN/Virtual Servers - Port forwarding) and hit Apply then Reboot, the updates seem to stick just fine.

However, when I look on the Log Port Forwarding tab (Advanced Settings/System Log/Port Forwarding) the old values still show up unchanged in VSERVER lines!

Example:
Original port forwarding rule: port 4445 external to 192.168.1.200 port 4445 internal using BOTH...

NFS on RT-AC1900P with 380.61

I've attached a USB drive to both the 2.0 and 3.0 port on the AC1900. Merlin shows the drives under Samba and FTP, but when I look at the NFS tab I see: "You need to plug a USB disk to your router to be able to export folders!"

Is there some setting I'm missing to enable NFS exports? I really enjoy the idea of this ASUS router providing NFS mount points.

Merlin has been awesome in every other way, now to get NFS working...

I used the RT-AC68U firmware.

noob question about setting up vlan, iptables etc

Hi all

I don't have too much experience with vlan and iptables, so please bear on with me (I tried to search in the older posts, but found it to be difficult to find exactly the answers I've been thinking about). I'm running asuswrt-merlin on Asus RT-AC87U (with entware installed). First, I wish to understand and therefore I have some questions:

  1. When I change something in the webgui 192.168.1.1, the router automatically changes IPtables, right (e.g. add new wireless channel)?...

Hello,

yesterday I upgraded firmware to 380.61. No problem, all fine. Perfect.

I dont have it before but now I want to enable SSH to wan to make SSH tunneling from my work.

I set on web config:

Enable SSH -> LAN+WAN
Allow SSH Port Forwarding -> Yes
SSH service port -> 22
Allow SSH password login -> Yes
Enable SSH Brute Force Protection -> Yes

ASUS RT-AC68 USB Modem / USB Tethering

Thinking about trying to setup a secondary WAN connection using Verizon USB Modem for failover, the primary connection to WAN is Cable. Looking at the modems supported on the ASUS website @ http://www.asus.com/event/networks_3G4G_support/ and it appears that there are 2 devices supported for the US & Verizon on the ASUS website. Verizon Wireless USB760 Modem & Verizon PCD UMW190 USB Modem.

Now looking at the drop-down list of supported USB devices in the most recent...

Hi all,

I´m running Merlin WRT version 380.61 on my RT-AC68U. I´m new to the Merlin WRT and I hope you can help me out with the configuration here.

I´m running a Plex server on one of my pcs. I want to make the access via web easier for my roommates.
Instead of typing "http://192.168.1.50:32400/web" into the browser I want them to enter just a name like "http://plex.home". (or even without .home)
Then router should forward this name "plex" to the local url...

Print Server Issues

I have already written about usb print server 'death' after some time of printer's inactivity. (Asuswrt-Merlin 378.52 is available)
Re-plugging a printer helps but only for ONE printing. (need to replug every time I need to print).
After a few days even replugging doesn't help. Everytime there is an error that the printer is busy, Print server stucks with the name of connected printer...

Hi,
I own a TP-Link TL-WR1043ND upgraded to dd-wrt. It does a good job but it's a little old. I'd like to buy an Asus device because it seems there are good routers :) but I have one question :
Does Asuswrt-Merlin have "Client mode" feature like dd-wrt ? I mean the ability to connect the Asus router to an access point, then broadcast another AP at home

Hello, I have a RT-AC66U and recently installed 380.61. I'm very impressed and grateful for the huge increase in functionality vs stock. It was nearly a seamless transition, too! I had to redo the VPN, everything else was still there.

I'm having trouble with my OKI MC160n Printer/Scanner writing to my SMB share after the upgrade. I've been using the share for nearly 2 years before the upgrade. I recreated the share, I formatted the external drive, I checked the username/password...

Hi

Please can someone help me urgently, i have updated my firmware to 380.61, and my router continues to intermittently reset itself with this error on the logs > disk_monitor: Got SIGALRM, it happens all the time and it is really frustrating, i thought that pushing new firmware would sort this out, but it continues to happen and i even tried to reset everything to default settings. i raised a ticket to asus for advice but who knows when they will get back to me! i am hoping that someone...

RT-AC68U reporting 1 ghz CPU

I just bought a new RT-AC68U and the revision is B1. I flashed to Merlin 378.56_2 and did a factory reset. Under Tools -> SysInfo it reports that the CPU Frequency is 1000 Mhz and HW acceleration Enabled (CTF + FA). I searched the forums and know there was a bug in earlier firmware which reported incorrect HW acceleration support but I did a factory reset after upgrading so NVRAM should be cleared.

I thought the U version of the router is supposed to have the BCM4708 which does not support...

IP tables confusion

Hello i am having a bit of a hard time understanding how to use ip tables in RMerlin firmware. I have read through the info and it seems like i have to telnet into the router to run them? I have used DDWRT and it has just built in command line that you can save them to the firewall.

Here is what i am trying to do. I am trying to save the following as a "firewall" rule to block certain youtube servers that are slow.

iptables -I FORWARD -s 173.194.55.0/24 -j REJECT
iptables -I FORWARD -s...

Cannot access certain HTTPS services (since 379..)

I upgraded to the latest version 380.61. Before that I was still on 379... but I have had this issue since I received a new modemrouter from my ISP:

certain services simply load forever when using them. It is always a secure site or for example my banking app on Android: I cannot login. A good example would be www.gmx.com, the most popular German email service. When logging in, it is forever loading.

The issue has to be the Asus RT-AC68U...

Running merlin 380.59..it were working fine until i install windows 10 and it
started this...I installed windows 10 saturday it started doing this sunday no
internet access wifi & wired

AC88U with Merlin 380.60 beta WAN connection drops (DHCP)

Hi,

First i like to start by stating i do not think my problem is linked to the specific firmware. My problem accured on original Asus firmware.

My setup is as followed.
And my problem is connection drops (no more drops i think) but alot of error in the logs. It seems to me that my router blocks DHCP renewal from my modem.

The setup.

- Coxaial modem set as bridge, no dhcp, simple bridge to the Asus router. (192.168.100.1
- Asus AC88U set as a router with DHCP and wireless active....
