Hi there... my VPN provider at times will do maintenance at my preferred exit locations, even sometimes completely eliminating these locations without warning, causing my connection to go down. I must go through and manually enable another VPN Client that I had preconfigured for events like this... and after going through this a couple of times now, was hoping to automate this a bit more?

RT-AC86U 384.16, RT-AC68U Aimesh node w/ 384.16, Diversion, UiDivstats, Skynet, AiProtection, Scribe, UiScribe, Conmon, SpdMerlin, scMerlin, Nsrum, OpenVPN.

Can someone verify if I have this set correctly? I tried following a cook book recipe, but may have been reading the wrong page. I've had DoT enabled for a while, but enabled DNS filtering yesterday, and now I have a different message on that router CUI page. Should the DNS filtering switch even be on? Thanks in advance....

This is within Parental controls. What does it mean? I didn't disable NAT Acceleration for my AC68U. Do I need to disable it for my AX88U? Thanks.

I had to add "block-outside-dns" to the default exported OpenVPN configuration, it would be nice if it was included by default or maybe add an option to enable it.
I also added "auth-nocache" since it was suggested in red colors in my client.

Are there any downsides to having those features enabled? Privacy wise it can prevent DNS leaks (block-outside-dns).

So currently I can not log in to the web gui of the router. Everything seems to work and I can connect trough SSH.

wan0_gateway vs wan0_gateway_x nvram variables

I have been doing some searching around as to the difference between nvram variables ending with _x and the variables that don't end with _x. As an example wan0_gatewaay vs wan0_gateway_x

Can someone explain what the _x variables do within the router?

Hello,

I've setup an OpenVPN Client on my router Asus RT-AC68U with Asuswrt-Merlin version 384.13_0 as follows:
Force Internet traffic through tunnel: Policy Rules (strict)
Rule: 192.168.24.0/24: VPN
Accept DNS Configuration: Exclusive

The VPN connection works fine but there is one problem:
not the DNS servers provied by the VPN tunnel but those from the WAN DNS Setting of the router are used.

I check the results on https://dnsleaktest.com

Cant get to router admin page

I have an Asus RT-AC68U running I believe 384.13_4 firmware.

It functions 100% with both wireless 2Ghz, 5Ghz and wired connections.
I can SSH to it, I can copy files to/from it using MobaXterm as my SSH client.
I can use the "Asus router" app on my iPhone and see all devices all stats etc.
I can open a command prompt from my PC and can do nslookup which goes to 192.168.1.1
I can run amtm along with diversion updates and both seem to be functioning.

What I can't do is get to the webpage at...

We recently got 362 down and 36 up fibre broadband with Virgin Media here in the UK. I ran a few speed tests when we first got the broadband modem and the speeds were exactly as advertised as long as you were in the same room as the modem. In my bedroom upstairs though, it would be halved. However, there were hardly lag spikes in games we played which was good. If there were latency issues we figured it was because of the current congestion going on. We were having low signals in some areas...

Hello, I have internet problems with ac88u, wifi ac only have 192 mbps connection, and before i had 866mbps. The big problem came with whatsapp whatsapp video calls, I see and hear them but they don't see or hear me. I was looking for this error and only found nat deactivation and this solved the WhatsApp problem, but without nat Acceleration (ctf) i only do 280mbps, which 600/600 of my connection. Does anyone know what happens and how to solve it?
