DNS Filtering parameters w/ DoT ?

RT-AC86U 384.16, RT-AC68U Aimesh node w/ 384.16, Diversion, UiDivstats, Skynet, AiProtection, Scribe, UiScribe, Conmon, SpdMerlin, scMerlin, Nsrum, OpenVPN.

Can someone verify if I have this set correctly? I tried following a cook book recipe, but may have been reading the wrong page. I've had DoT enabled for a while, but enabled DNS filtering yesterday, and now I have a different message on that router CUI page. Should the DNS filtering switch even be on? Thanks in advance....

This is within Parental controls. What does it mean? I didn't disable NAT Acceleration for my AC68U. Do I need to disable it for my AX88U? Thanks.

We recently got 362 down and 36 up fibre broadband with Virgin Media here in the UK. I ran a few speed tests when we first got the broadband modem and the speeds were exactly as advertised as long as you were in the same room as the modem. In my bedroom upstairs though, it would be halved. However, there were hardly lag spikes in games we played which was good. If there were latency issues we figured it was because of the current congestion going on. We were having low signals in some areas...

So to solve all the problems with installing dnscrypt with entware (or similar) then setting up various scripts to handle dnscrypt-proxy starting up including the ntp issue, I made my own installer for dnscrypt-proxy.

Requirements:
- ARM or MIPSEL based ASUS routers
- asuswrt-merlin firmwares or compatible
- jffs support and script enabled

Incompatibilities:
- No known issue

Hi there,
This thread is about GNUton's Merlin builds for DSL devices.

* A few words about how this project started:
Some days back I bought a DSL-AC68U. I got a used one for 40 euros. As far as I know, this devices is pretty much as an RT-AC68U but it sells cheaper because... maybe... there is no custom firmware for it, so people think they are worse.
Then I decided to make an experiment, let's see how much the price of these devices will be once people will know that there are Asus...

AC56U - No Bandwidth Monitoring

Hi everyone, total n00b here! I just installed 384.6 and it went swimmingly. Unfortunately I'm not getting any readings under Adaptive QoS > WAN/LAN Bandwidth Monitor or Web History. This was my main reason for tinkering in the first place, as there are devices on my network that are totally saturating the bandwidth and I'm trying to figure it out.

Devices are showing up and getting IP through DHCP on the AC56U, but nothing in the monitoring section.

Any ideas?

Significant degradation in USB performance

I have my RT-AC1900P doubling as a NAS by the use of a USB connected SSD. Since the last couple of firmware updates for the router, I notice the throughput has significantly degraded. I was able to get ~30 MBps read and write speeds. But now write speeds are about 7-8 MBps. But read speeds are truly terrible at 0.13 MBps.

This is measured connected via ethernet cable. I am currently running firmware 384.16. I have tried different hard drives. same issue. Also tried ext3, ext4, NTFS...

Odd wifi problem with Galaxy S8+ and play store (amongst others)

AC86U, latest Merlin, and S8+ with latest firmware (but this has been a problem for quite some time). I have a very odd problem on my phone where trying to download anything from the play store is very slow and stops and starts a lot. I also have an issue with 1 or 2 other apps that seem to simply fail to work when I am connected to my wifi but runs perfectly ok as soon as i switch to 4g. This happens regardless of being on 2ghz or 5ghz.

The wifi itself is perfect, my pc is connected...

UPDATE: Plugged the old linksys router back in. Changed the subnet from 10.0.0.1 to 10.0.1.1 so I could have both routers up at the same time. Connected to Linksys, phone connects to play store and downloads updates and new apps just fine. Connected to Asus, it just sits there waiting for download.

I just replaced my linksys router with the RT-AC68U. I installed the Merlin firmware (384.15) on it I haven't really done much of anything configuration wise except turning on the AiProtection...

I have this old Kindle Fire (5th gen) that I'd like to use around the house but want to keep it from connecting at all to the internet. Is there any way to do this with my RT-N66U. I have my ISP's modem connected through ethernet cable and there is another linksys (cheap) router connected to it also as a bridge to the other end of the house. I'd like to stream music with it using wifi/bluetooth but want to prevent it from having access to the internet.

With the release of the Add-on API in Merlin and even John’s fork, we have seen existing scripts from @Adamm and @Jack Yaz adapted to the new API, as well as @juched’s stats for Unbound.

What other ideas are out there for things to be developed as UI add-ons? What’s on your Merlin wish list? Do you have a script already, but you aren’t so good with UI? Or an idea for a UI but no idea how to make it work behind the scenes?

Problem with Guest Network (Wrong Password)

Hello Everyone.

I'm having some problems with my Guest Networks, can anyone help me?

My Guest network works only for a couple hours (couldn't measure how long, but It's about 3) and after that any Device that tries to connect (even devices that was connected before) get the "Incorrect Password" message.

If I reboot the router or kill and re-create the guest Network it starts working again.

My router is a AC88U and firmware 384.15. I have also an AIMESH node with a AC68P router, also...
