So the Dish Receiver shows up as two devices ... when i attempt to limit bandwidth it makes no difference. Also if i try to block internet access it also does nothing.Anyone have a similar issue. I have the AX88U running FM 384.16

Slow speeds and lag on new Asus 86U
We recently got 362 down and 36 up fibre broadband with Virgin Media here in the UK. I ran a few speed tests when we first got the broadband modem and the speeds were exactly as advertised as long as you were in the same room as the modem. In my bedroom upstairs though, it would be halved. However, there were hardly lag spikes in games we played which was good. If there were latency issues we figured it was because of the current congestion going on. We were having low signals in some areas...

384.15 AC86U 5Ghz Dropping/Disconnecting
Hi, is anybody else experiencing random dropping of their wifi on 384.15 AC86U? I was on 384.12 before and had no issues until I updated last night.
Laptops and phones would have to disconnect and reconnect, or would disconnect on their own. I haven't really tested 2.4ghz since I mainly use 5ghz. Rebooting the router fixed it temporarily last night, and twice today.
I saw a ton of auth and deauth messages in the syslog, but I did find a thread saying that was normal in the later versions....

Determine WPA connection type
Is there a way to reveal the WPA level that devices are connecting with?
I was able to connect my notebook running Windows 10 at WPA3, and know that because Windows tells you. But my Iphone/Ipads don't tell you.
Oh, and if it's relevant, I'm operating in AP mode only.

Asus Openvpn Site-to-Site config with Tun can't access client network computers
Hello everyone,
I have made a VPN tunnel between two routers with TAP interface. It worked fine, but with DNS and DHCP servers (two Synology NAS with DCHP and DNS servers on both networks), I decided to change to TUN. The reason was that the DCHP server of the server network was the one that gave the ip addresses in the client's network and redirected me to the server dns of the server's network and I did not like that.
I describe the hardware:

AX88U USB issue
I am trying to move the configuration I had on my AC5300 to an AX88U. So far everything works except the detection of the UPS.
Both routers are running the same version (384.14) and both have the usb modules compiled and inserted in the kernel prior to connecting the UPS.
If I type dmesg this is what I get on the AC5300 (where everything works):

Problems with CloudFlare DoT
Anyone had recently problems with CloudFlare DoT?
Today I noticed problems working with Facebook. The browser (Mozilla) hanged on connection to static.xx.fbcdn.net. All other sites seems to be resolved fine. The problem appeared on all devices connected to the router (Windows and Linux PCs and Android phones). Finally I resolved it by switching to Quad9 DoT. In the begining I've just added Quad9 - the problem has been resolved partially. Still some unstabillity appear. When totaly removed...

Dot & DNSSEC vs Unbound?
In the GUI WAN tab I have set:
Enable DNSSEC support
DNS-over-TLS (DOT)
In amtm, there is option to add the script Unbound Manager. I read that Unbound is a secure validating, recursive, and caching DNS server. However, I am a little confused over what all these DNS protocols do.
Since I have DoT and DNSSEC set in the GUI, does Unbound offer any additional benefit over DoT and DNSSEC?
Or, does Unbound do the same thing as Dot & DNSSEC?
In other words, Should I add Unbound?...

Failover between OpenVPN Clients?
Hi there... my VPN provider at times will do maintenance at my preferred exit locations, even sometimes completely eliminating these locations without warning, causing my connection to go down. I must go through and manually enable another VPN Client that I had preconfigured for events like this... and after going through this a couple of times now, was hoping to automate this a bit more?
I was wondering if there is any technique out there for possibility configuring the router to...

Understanding IPv6 and OpenVPN Client on Merlin
I have noted below what I think I understand (which is almost certainly wrong) in the hope of understanding how other users manage their use of external VPN services.
Understanding IPv6 and OpenVPN Client on Merlin
- External VPN providers are split between those who have servers that fully support IPv6 tunnelling, those that send IPv6 traffic into a virtual black hole and those who do nothing.
- OpenVPN has the capability to support IPv6 tunnels.
- Currently Asuswrt-Merlin does not support sending IPv6 traffic though an OpenVPN...

Need your Pro's opinion.
Hey guys would it be a big upgrade getting the RT-AX58U, at the moment I went back to my Ac3100.
I did have the AX88U, but I was having many issues with it, not on the FW side but on the hardware side. The AX88U was randomly restarting on its own, dropping wifi connection, and other weird issues. I know it was not merlin's FW, I followed LD's guide on how to reset router after fw guide.
Other than the AX tech, is there really a big difference, maybe a better faster cpu? Also I have a...

OpenVPN
I had to add "block-outside-dns" to the default exported OpenVPN configuration, it would be nice if it was included by default or maybe add an option to enable it.
I also added "auth-nocache" since it was suggested in red colors in my client.
Are there any downsides to having those features enabled? Privacy wise it can prevent DNS leaks (block-outside-dns).
