If I browse to this website:

I get a page off this website:
https://www.spiceoflifepharmacy.com

1. It only happens on devices connected to the router.
2. It happens on two different PC, all browsers and my android mobile
3. If I engage the VPN on the PC or switch to Verizion data - I get the correct website.
4. If I bypass the router and connect directly to Spectrum - I get the correct site.

Suggestions: Proxy Server with Authentication

Hello

We were planning to run tinyproxy via entware on the AC87U, however the package is outdated (1.8.3) and does not support basicAuth. Releases from 1.10.xx does support basicAuth, yet I have no idea how to start compiling the package on my own.

That said, does anyone have tips how to achieve such proxy setup with AC87U?

Here are few ideas and shortfalls of such:

1. VPS acting as tinyproxy host (running latest package) and routing traffic via VPN tunnel to AC87U, effectively using...

Since updating to v384.11_0 on my RT-AC5300 I am periodically seeing the following in my logs. I don't recall seeing these entries before, and I'm curious what's going on.

[DSL-AC68U] AsusWrt Merlin builds for DSL routers

Hi there,
This thread is about GNUton's Merlin builds for DSL devices.

* A few words about how this project started:
Some days back I bought a DSL-AC68U. I got a used one for 40 euros. As far as I know, this devices is pretty much as an RT-AC68U but it sells cheaper because... maybe... there is no custom firmware for it, so people think they are worse.
Then I decided to make an experiment, let's see how much the price of these devices will be once people will know that there are Asus...

OpenVPN Server issues

Hi,

Yesterday I had a router crash and ended up redoing everything from scratch. It's now up and running as before, except for the OVPN. The OVPN server is running on the router and I can connect to it from a client (phone). However I'm unable to use the internet via the VPN. What I want is to be able to surf on my phone as if I were at home, taking advantage of the adblocking by Diversion. This used to work, but now it doesn't :(.

So to solve all the problems with installing dnscrypt with entware (or similar) then setting up various scripts to handle dnscrypt-proxy starting up including the ntp issue, I made my own installer for dnscrypt-proxy.

Requirements:
- ARM or MIPSEL based ASUS routers
- asuswrt-merlin firmwares or compatible
- jffs support and script enabled

Incompatibilities:
- No known issue

Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 is now available for all supported models. The main change of this release is the addition of support for AiMesh (both router and nodes) for those models that are compatible (RT-AC87U and RT-AC3200 are not supported).

Update:: 384.13_1 for the RT-AC87U, which resolves AP mode for that model.

This release also includes a number of fixes. The highlights:
  • AiMesh support for both router and nodes. See the AiMesh section below for more...

Directing only DNS over VPN?

Just wondering if this is reasonably simple to do? I'm currently running dnsmasq to point specific domains over specific DNS IP's. Everything else goes over another DNS IP address set at the WAN configuration level.

Is it possible to have a VPN client up and running and point all DNS traffic only towards the VPN?

Better still, could you point some DNS lookups to one VPN client and others to another VPN client while having everything else go through the main WAN DNS IP's?

Selectively route LAN clients, website or streaming media traffic over the WAN or OpenVPN client interfaces on Asuswrt-Merlin firmware using IPSET lists.

Project Development
I used Amazon Prime, BBC, CBS All Access, Hulu, Netflix and Sling streaming media services in developing the project and include them in the usage examples on the x3mRouting GitHub repository.

Pros/Cons of enabling IPv6

The other morning I enabled IPv6 on my router as a test for another issue. I didn't really know what to expect, and I eventually disabled it and had to reset/restore from backup to get things back to normal with IPv4.

I've read some of the older SmallNetBuilder articles on IPv6. My ISP is Comcast and seems very IPv6 ready. My test-ipv6.com results were all good.

But it was damn scary...

ASUS DDNS not updating WAN IP

I have Asus DDNS setup which I use to establish a VPN connection. For the past few weeks Open VPN won’t connect and I noticed it’s resolving the DDNS host name to a different IP,most likely the last WAN IP. Hope I’ve described the issue correctly. At the moment my WAN IP is different to what this page shows when I query my DDNS name.

Last time this happened rebooting resolved the issue but today again same thing.

OpenVPN Subnet visibility at LAN subnet

Hi,

I have my LAN network on 192.168.2.0/24, and an OpenVPN server at 192.168.3.0/24 subnet. From the VPN subnet I can access without problems my NAS and other servers on the LAN network by IP, but I cannot connect to my PS4 over remote play (it has static IP) through the VPN. I think it's probably related not being in the same subnet, but I'm not sure about how to resolve this issue.

Reading the forums I have seen some solutions regarding push the LAN route in the VPN server config, but...

DoT with OpenVPN Client

Hi

I want to switch from using my VPN provider's DNS servers to DoT servers provided by CloudFlare. I've got DoT working fine for non-VPN clients but for the clients I'm using VPN policy routing for, if I set "Accept DNS Configuration" to "Disabled", I thought the clients would default to using the DoT servers but they don't. I get DNS probe errors and no internet.

Is there a way to do this?

I do have the "Format JFFS partition at next boot" set as No and "Enable JFFS custom scripts and configs" as Yes.

Under /jffs/scripts folder, I have a file called cronjobs as below:
-rwxrwxrwx 1 admin root 306 Oct 25 09:57 cronjobs*

Inside the cronjobs file, I have sample content below:
#!/bin/sh
cru a MoveFiles "*/30 * * * * mv /tmp/mnt/Files/* /tmp/mnt/Files/Temp/"

If I manually run the cronjobs file, the job is installed properly. But it doesnot seem like...

Firewall: Drop IPv6 neighbour solicitation broadcasts

Today I switched back over to Merlin 384.13 to test some things and was reviewing my restored settings and saw that on Tools / Other Settings I had once enabled "Firewall: Drop IPv6 neighbour solicitation broadcasts (default: No)" since I am on Comcast/Xfinity. I believe I once saw a bunch of IPv6 traffic in tcpdump on the WAN interface, so decided to try this.

To get to the point, I went looking to see what this setting does, and expected to find an ip6tables rule in the mangle table, but...
