Trying to use softflowd on RT-AC88U

Hello,

I am trying to figure out how to get softflowd working on an RT-AC88U running 384.8_2. When I try to run

  • /opt/sbin/softflowd -i eth0 -v 5 -n 192.168.xxx.yyy:4379 -d &

I get back:

  • -sh: /opt/sbin/softflowd: not found

But, I do see that /opt/sbin/softflowd is defintiely there, and the user path contains /opt/sbin.

I'm open to any and all suggestions.

ASUS RT-AC87U 5Ghz connection issues

Hi all,

I think/hope I am not the only one, but I keep having significant problems using 5GHz wifi connection on my RT-AC87U with latest Merlin's FW (but also before).

In particular, even if I am really close to the router, it is very difficult to access from my phone same network resources or to surf internet on 5GHz. If I switch to 2.4GHz, the connection is almost immediately established and everything works fine.

DDNS (inadyn) syntax for multiple host support & wildcards

I'm happy to see that in 384.7+, Asuswrt-Merlin uses a new DDNS client (inadyn) that adds SSL support (and much more).

With that said I have noticed a couple of annoyances (using version 384.8_2)
  1. Updating multiple hosts is not as simple as just separating the hosts with commas in the UI ("Host Name" field under DDNS), as before.
    E.g. setting that field to something like

    no longer works. Instead one has to use the multi-host syntax of...

Smart TV cannont connect out

I have an LG tv that cannot connect to any external sites. It says it's connected to the internet. Help! I have an rt87u with the latest firmware as of 01/03/19. Please and thank you. If this has been brought up before, please link me to the thread. Thanks!

USB wan: adaptive QoS: upload no classification detection

Rt-ac68u running Merlin

My fibre was out for 2 days

USB-android Wan works but I found that adaptive QoS not doing any classification for uploads, some times I see some throttling on wireless, and no throttling on wired

When my fibre is back, adaptive QoS is working fine through pppoe wan

I installed the fantastic scripts in my router

I've never seen this error, and though it gave me a chuckle, need to know what is going on.
No options/addons just a plain vanilla install with some port forwarding.
The router has been rock solid for months, then this.

So to solve all the problems with installing dnscrypt with entware (or similar) then setting up various scripts to handle dnscrypt-proxy starting up including the ntp issue, I made my own installer for dnscrypt-proxy.

Requirements:
- ARM or MIPSEL based ASUS routers
- asuswrt-merlin firmwares or compatible
- jffs support and script enabled

Incompatibilities:
- No known issue

Hey Forum. I've been desperately trying to get custom DDNS to work and finally gave up and am looking for help from you all. Chances are someone will know what's going on from looking at the logs (below) but I cant figure it out. Hoping for an easy fix... thanks in advance for the help!

My Setup:
  • RT-AC68U

Any experiences with these? Thoughts? My router is constantly on the move with me and it would be nice to have a set and forget bit of extra storage. One in each port could give me 256GB of storage :D

Lexar S45, Samsung Fit, Sandisk Ultra Fit?

I've heard the SanDisk runs really hot which could be an issue....

EXT4 disk formatting options on the router

Hi. Does anyone know how one can format a USB as ext4 with journaling disabled, from within the router's shell interface? When I've used the disk formatting options it seems to automatically use EXT2. Without getting onto a debate between ext2 vs ext4, does anyone know how ext4 without journaling can be accomplished? I'm doing it remotely so using a linux install on a pc isn't an option unfortunately.

OpenVPN Server unable to establish connection

Can anyone help?

I have tried to setup an OpenVPN server and have followed the instructions but i cannot establish a connection.
I also tried setting one up using PPTP and IPSEC and also could not establish a connection.

Can someone please advise where i might be going wrong?

Upgrading from N66U to AC68U

Hi All

I have an old N66U with Merlin firmware 380.70 installed (this was when Merlin discontinued support for this model)

I want to upgrade to a slightly newer model (more because I am worried it will fail at some point) that being a AC68U.

If I was to flash the AC68U with the same version firmware, that being the old 380.70, for that particular model would I be able to use the lasted backed up configuration file from my N66U to restore the devices configurations to match on the AC68U?...

Having Problem With RT-AC68U

I am having some issues with my router and am looking for some help. I may have more than one issue, but here is what I am seeing:

The most immediate problem is that suddenly my wifi download speeds have dropped. I used to typically get around 150mb download when connecting to my wifi from my wireless devices. I just checked today and I am getting 30mb. My internet is 1000mb service and directly wired clients get 300mb, so it must be a wifi issue. Just to test, I turned off the 2.4Ghz...
