Hey folks,

Seems this problem has cropped up again for me.

Presently running:

• RT-5300AC w/384.7_2
• ICMP snooping enabled for all bands (this is what fixed things last time)
• Tri-Band Smart Connect is enabled

WiFi to wired devices is fine, but WiFi to WiFi is problematic. I'm wondering if we're approaching the limit of what the 5300 can do? Connected to it is:

• WiFi 12+ devices
• Wired 6+ devices

It varies depending on who in the house has turned on...

Just got a new AC-86U, migrating from a AC-66U running tomato.

Trying to setup DDNS via afraid.

I use the last release of Merlin firmware at ASUS hardware (a few different routers).


I’m trying to setting up the size of OVPN socket buffers 512K but I can’t do that. I’ve tried to put the corresponding instructions to the configuration file either of server or client but always receive the size of buffers 256K.

I would like to disable the wifi on my RT88u between the hours of 10pm and 7am. I don't see a Wifi scheduler that appears to be available in the stock Asus firmware. I'm using Merlin firmware 384.7.

Hi, just wanted to report my findings using openvpn with RT-86u. I am getting about 210 mbps with CPU utilization around 82% on a 250 mbps line. The server distance is far as well at about 182 ms.
Is this the maximum I could get with this router? or is there a way to tweak it further?

i'm really happy that i migrated from the linksys dd-wrt world over here to the asus merlin'sphere
while i will miss using yamon, at least here i have no new bs/kong instability nightmares any more.

so now that everything just works, i was wondering if i still had room for improvement. here are my
wifi settings based on stuff i googled around, trial and error that keeps my two dozen IP's working.
i have a typical residence lan wifi hosting; streamers, ip cams, android/iphones, laptops...

I have an old 68U that a friend of the family uses and I'm looking to set it up with the latest Merlin FW. When I set it up 2-3 years ago, it was done with pre-378.55 FW.

What are the steps I need to upgrade to the latest. I presume I can't just go from something that old to the latest.

Whenever I connect to my router or to Google VPN via my Android phone w/ chrome mobile, I get "your connection was interrupted" msg and after that websites load. Anyone know how to fix this? It doesn't happen on all website but still happens alot to be very annoying

Asuswrt-Merlin 384.7 is now available. This release is not available for the RT-AC3200 or RT-AC56U, due to lack of compatible release code from Asus. In addition to merging with GPL 384_21152, this release brings major changes to the DDNS support, replacing the venerable ez-ipupdate client with the more secure In-a-Dyn.

21-Oct-2018:: 384.7_2 is now available, resolving a few issues present in 384.7.

Hi All,

I am having issues upgrading my AC87U which is currently running version 384.5 to version 384.7.2, it goes through the normal process but when i come to log back into the router, it hasn't updated?

Does anyone have any idea why, and how to resolve this?

Hello! I am sorry if this has already been discussed, but I just can't get SNMP extend to work on my RT-AC68U (384.7_2). I have created a snmpd.postconf script in /jffs/scripts to append the following line to the snmpd.conf: "extend test /bin/echo hello", but when I use snmpwalk to check, it does not seem to work. How can I get snmp extend working? Thanks!

In bridge mode it show the connection as being off-line but it not

Baby steps here.

Got the rt to recognize the ups, and apcupsd configured to communicate with it.

Next step is the apcupsd-cgi module so status can be viewed via web page.

1) apcupsd-cgi is installed properly
2) lighttpd installed following the guide here - https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin/wiki/Lighttpd-web-server-with-PHP-support-through-Entware

3) Yet instead of running the .cgi file, the browser wants to download it. I have a feeling...
