Cant get Diversion to block adds

I just installed Diversion on my new Asus RT-AC86U
Installing it worked well, but I still seem to have adds when I surf the web.
Is there something else I should do to enable it?

How do I know that the SW is working?

There was a query recently about how to detect DOWNLOAD throughput activity and BLOCK the device if deemed appropriate so I have revised my suggested solution.

Using the Traffic Analyzer reports, you can review device activity, but real-time monitoring may be useful.

So here is my shoddy QuotaMonitor.sh script to monitor/apply a DOWNLOAD (Rx) or UPLOAD (Tx) rate or Data Cap.

Dual WAN ipv6 settings

Heya. I’ve been messing about with my setup again and would like to confirm behaviour that I’m noticing. I have a dual WAN setup and if I turn on ipv6, the settings for ipv6 would affect both WAN the same correct? For example, one of my ISPs does IPV6 natively and the other does a dual stack. I can only select one setting for both WAN correct?
That has been what I’ve noticed and would just like to confirm if that is expected behaviour.

I’m on a 87U running Merlin’s 384.7_2.

RT-AC68U USB 4G dongle issues

I recently tried this merlin firmware.
But for some time now, i got tired of the USB dongle disconnected, and mobile network was lost.

This seems not happening with original Asus firmware and right now i am back on the original firmware.

Dongle name: Huawei - E3276 .
I tried both USB2 and USB3 port, same, same, both ends up with a disconnected device, and no mobile network.

If it happens when i sit by pc, i reset router, or i simply wait, and it actually finds the usb unit again and...

Asuswrt-Merlin 384.7 is now available. This release is not available for the RT-AC3200 or RT-AC56U, due to lack of compatible release code from Asus. In addition to merging with GPL 384_21152, this release brings major changes to the DDNS support, replacing the venerable ez-ipupdate client with the more secure In-a-Dyn.

21-Oct-2018:: 384.7_2 is now available, resolving a few issues present in 384.7.

Trying to run IPSec VPN Server and it works...
but the problem I am having is that it seems to time out after about 20 minus , sometimes... I have to re-establish it again... Where do I look for logs in these things...

Hi guys,
I am totally new to advanced router modifications and also new to this forum, I have a lot to catch up and learn.

I just bought a ASUS RT-AC86U and installed the latest Merlin firmware.
I now wanted to see what cool additions and tweaks I could use.

So first on my list is using Diversion Add blocking . I understand I need to install it on an external drive that is connected directly to the Router.

Questions:
1 - Should I be using the USB2 or USB3 port on the Routre for this?

So to solve all the problems with installing dnscrypt with entware (or similar) then setting up various scripts to handle dnscrypt-proxy starting up including the ntp issue, I made my own installer for dnscrypt-proxy.

Requirements:
- ARM or MIPSEL based ASUS routers

Hi All,

HW: Asus RT88U
FW: 384_7_2

Sorry if my search-fu is weak, and I missed the answer on the forum.

I am looking for a txt based output of the 'system log'/'wireless log' table.

That table displays connected client's name, mac, and signal strength. I would like that as a file that I can scrape, tail, etc. I do see a few files in /tmp (e.g. allwclientlist.json) and more detail in /jffs/nmp_cl_json.js, but neither contain signal strength. Lastly, I did an snmpwalk, but if...

RT-AC68U merlin firmware issue

Hello!

I have not updated the firmware for a long time so now was the time to do it... I downloaded the latest merlin version for RT-AC68U. After update it still is version 3.0.0.4.376.49_5 it should be ...384.7_2 or am I wrong?

Wireless not working after awhile

guys, i have a rt-ac86u, about a month, always on stock firmware (latest)
since yesterday i decided to upgrade to merlin, 384.7 , all was working fine

today i came home, seems my laptop was unable to connect to the wifi 5ghz; i still saw it broadcasting though...
lan cable was still working fine

i decided to reboot, so open up the webinterface of the asus, clicked on reboot, but the router turned off instead.... ?
so unplugged the outlet, plugged back in, and router started up

Hi,

I searched the forums and found a number of older posts recommending disabling settings such as MU-MIMO and Universal Beamforming.

I'm wondering, with the latest ASUS or RMerlin firmware, what are the recommendations for the wireless settings for 2.4 and 5GHZ bands under the Wireless-Professional tab.

changed dns server now I cant login to the router

I have a rt-ac86u router. I flashed the stable merlin. Router was working fine. Then I logged in to change the dns server to cloud flare 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1. I clicked apply. Now when I try to login it cant find my router. My internet works fine though. Any idea what I could have clicked by mistake to cause this?
