Hello,

I have been using asuswrt-merlin for couple years now. I have an AC3200 as main router and a AC68U set up as media bridge with a computer connected to it (ethernet).
I noticed after the upgrade that the computer connected to AC68U through ethernet UPLOAD speed dropped to 2Mbps from 100Mbps (Tested with Speedtest.net). I replicated it with another laptop directly connected to AC68U with a different ethernet cable as well. AC68U connects to AC3200 main router through 5GHZ. My iPhone X...

Is there a way to backup the Manually Assigned IP entries via the command-line? And if so, how? Could I also assume that it could then be restored after doing a factory reset?

hello, replacing my n66 fork firmware router today with a new ac86u. thoughts on the merlin firmware vs the stock firmware ??
am i able to flash back and forth somehow, meaning asus doesn't lock firmware or anything.
any thoughts or feedback would be great. thank you.

Hello,

I have an Asus RT-AC86U running firmware 384.3.

I'm trying to prioritise my devices using QoS, and they are all connected via OpenVPN.
Bandwidth limiter does work, however traditional QoS (using any protocol for the MAC addresses) does not do anything as it looks like the OpenVPN traffic is not taken into account.

For example, tagging a device as LOW and setting 10% of max upload and download does not have any impact on the bandwidth used by this device.
Or tagging a device as LOW...

I can't access router's samba through router's ipv6 address. It seams samba is not listening on it. Is there a workaround?

Done the upgrade by HTTPS GUI, the wireless come back and it seemed to be normally working (I was able to browse on the internet). The I checked a 20cm noctua fan on which the router is standing and that is connected to the router by the rear usb port and it was not working.
I observed also that the USB pen placed on the front USB3 port was not flashing as it does normally.
Instinctively I did a power off/ power on of the router by the power switch and when it come up both usb come back...

Hello,

It seems to be a problem connecting to router through SSH when using a wireless 5Ghz connection. I have an RT-AC66U with 380.69_2 firmware.
With previous firmwares I experienced the same problem.

When using the same SSID for 2,4G and 5G on the router (and my computer is connected to 5G), I cannot connect to router through SSH
The error I am getting from PuTTY is: 'Netwok error: Connection timed out.'
From WinSCP: 'Netwok error: Connection to "192.168.2.1" timed out.'

I know this is gonna sound really noob but for the life of me I can't figure some of this stuff out >.>.

I have a NAS/homeServer with a bunch of VMs and containers. Among those, I have a telegraf docker container that collects a lot of metrics for that server and sends it to the usual influxdb/grafana combo. I want to set that Telegraf instance to also query all the info I can from my router running merlin.

I have a router in a remote location running Asus Merlin, I have access via SSH... is there a way to update the firmware via the command line terminal instead of the webpage gui? So I don't have to go there physically?

Greetings,

As is expected, if I log dropped connections, I see lots of them.

Any suggestions for a simple, free SIEM/log analyzer? Ideally something that would summarize thing and show, for example, "200 SSH attempts from IP address, a.b.c.d in China... or something like that.

I got the 88U last year specifically due to the increased NVRAM. Running 384.3.

I like the network map feature with custom icons; and I have a ton of devices (10 Nest Protects; 8 Sonos devices, a dozen cameras, etc etc 71 devices on the network now; a slightly larger number of static DHCP reservations.

Problem is my router basically crashes now whenever I add a new custom icon. I can SSH in, delete the icon in jffs/usericon and the router resumes fine. It does this for any icon I...

Asuswrt-Merlin 384.3 is now available. While this release isn't perfect, it reached a stability point where the remaining issues have been consuming too many hours of my time and I'm still unable to reproduce them. Since it's working fine for the vast majority, I decided it was high time to have this wrapped up, so I could move on to working with newer code base, with hopefully the remaining fixes in there.

I thought this should be easier, but apparently theres something weird here.

My setup is easy:
AC86U running 380.68_4. It has a public IP acquired from cable modem. LAN IP is 10.0.0.1
I currently have 3 opened ports: 80, 9091 and 51414 to a raspberry pi (10.0.0.2) . All ports work well from the outside.

I connected a PLC (10.0.0.200) to the lan side of the asus. This PLC has TCP ports 1200 and 51738 open. I can access these ports from any computer inside my network.
