Getting SNMP data with Telegraf

I know this is gonna sound really noob but for the life of me I can't figure some of this stuff out >.>.

I have a NAS/homeServer with a bunch of VMs and containers. Among those, I have a telegraf docker container that collects a lot of metrics for that server and sends it to the usual influxdb/grafana combo. I want to set that Telegraf instance to also query all the info I can from my router running merlin.

I have no idea how to do it.

Can't install Entware or Download Master

I'm trying to use my RT-AC68U as a bittorrent client to improve seeding.

I used to be able to install Download Master, but now I get "Cannot connect to the internet". I tried combinations of re-flashing and resetting my settings to no avail.

So I figured I would use Transmission via Entware.

But it basically gets to "Modifying Start Scripts" and then hangs, and then just returns to the prompt.

Also note that my drive comes up as "mnt/NAS" instead of "mnt/sda1".

How to set up guest network without other WiFi networks?

I use my RT-AC68U (running merlin) as my router (with wireless disabled) with an Orbi system in AP mode for WiFi.

Seems like the Orbi guest networks don't isolate guests from the local network.

So I would like to have a guest network on the RT-AC68U. However if if enable the 2.4 Ghz radio (for the guest network) I cannot see a way to disable the local network wireless access?

I started already a thread with this item. The way a member of this forum tried to help me was friendly in the beginning, but became offensive and insulting at the end...

So I hope to find other helpful users because I think that I'm just a small step away from the solution.

Hi guys,

I am using an ASUS RT-AC68U with Merlin firmware 384.3, and have wonderful scripts running on it (FreshJR_QoS, AB-Solution and Skynet - the last two are installed on my Kingston 8GB USB 2.0 drive).

That USB drive is about 5 years old and mostly used for storing personal documents. As a result, it has not been under heavy workload in long-term. As I am going to be on work duty oversea for 1 year or more, I have to make sure the router run stably for my parents, who are not tech...

Should I updrade the old USB drive to a newer one for error-free when using AB-Solution and Skynet?

How can I a static ip address assignment a custom gateway instead of the default 192.168.0.1

I use a DHCP server on my network on Asus Merlin, I need to give the a certain device that can only be given an ip via DHCP (Roku) an ip and a different gateway to go off to a different ISP, is this possible?

Connected client wrongly showed as STATIC

Hi all,
Asus AC68 running 380.69_2 here.
My issue is that in Network map I see a client connected with its local IP (via DHCP), with the badge STATIC. However no configuration has been provided on the router for its MAC, and nvram show | grep static does not show the involved MAC/IP address.
This client is connected through TAP VPN, could this somehow confuse the client list report?

So I've tested my configuration of Mullvad VPN which was done through following their guide

it works properly on LAN but totally fails connecting to the internet on the guest network

at first I thought it was the routes I set or my router IP being changed but even after setting 0.0.0.0 as source IP, it still doesn't work

I've learned that the guest network uses some special virtual bridge configuration but my level is...

Hi,

I am trying to configure VPN client in order to send through VPN only the traffic made from router itself.

I mean that I have Entware installed and I need do send via VPN only the traffic made by entware applications (for example: nzbget client, torrent client, etc). So all clients remain connected directly, without VPN.

I tried https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin/wiki/Policy-based-routing with configured "Accept DNS configuration" to Exclusive and then...

Hello guys, after a couple of long hours, I've comed to the conclusion that the DNS server cache of my router is corrupt, and am looking for a way to flush it (see more details in the following paragraph).

ASUS 384.3 bug? AC3200 & RT68U

Hello,

I have been using asuswrt-merlin for couple years now. I have an AC3200 as main router and a AC68U set up as media bridge with a computer connected to it (ethernet).
I noticed after the upgrade that the computer connected to AC68U through ethernet UPLOAD speed dropped to 2Mbps from 100Mbps (Tested with Speedtest.net). I replicated it with another laptop directly connected to AC68U with a different ethernet cable as well. AC68U connects to AC3200 main router through 5GHZ. My iPhone X...

Hello,
i've tenda ac18 router (harware is the same as asus rt-n68u) and i used merlin firmware succesfull. Did sucessful several times firmware upgrade until 384_3 (last beta was OK too). Something went wrong and now i've "software brick".
I think i tried everything what is possible. All kind of resets (3o\30\30, with WPS, with Reset) and so on. Now i'm connected to router with usb uart cable, and this is what i'm geting from it:

After expending a whole lot of effort, I thought I might be able to block wired IoT smart devices at the port level from being able to access the local network. After reading 24 threads on this website, I cobbled together a script that was similar to what others had created. I think only one of those threads mentioned the same router. The script commands complete successfully, but wired devices can't connect to the router.

OpenVPN client event scripts not running

In order for the openvpn-event script to run for the client connection, I needed an openvpnclient1.postconf

echo "script-security 2" >> $CONFIG
echo "up /usr/sbin/updown.sh" >> $CONFIG
echo "down /usr/sbin/updown.sh" >> $CONFIG

which I cribbed from the server config but it required the full path for some reason. I have no idea if the server-security 2 is necessary or not.

The documentation makes it sound like the script should be running for the client but it doesn't...

Hoping someone has an answer.

after a long upgrade path to 384.3 I am experience high cpu temps and usage: https://imgur.com/a/9xEvs

seems the culprit is:

R 1364 0.5 1 49.7 /usr/sbin/acsd
restarting is a short term fix..

although Im not sure. hoping someone has some insights.
