I have mount remote CIFS on RT-AC66U (FW 378.55) and transfer is very slow / about 700 KB/s. When is connect direct on PC transfer is normal.

Do you have any idea?

Hi,

I have been trying to use Upnp Portmapper (https://sourceforge.net/projects/upnp-portmapper/) on my router and found that while it works well to set or remove settings, I can only set a port this way directed to the local host machine.

If I try to set a port to my NAS for instance it will not work. According to the author he thinks this may be a restriction of the Router not allowing it. https://sourceforge.net/p/upnp-portmapper/bugs/49/

Hi,

is there a way (a means) to enable IPv6 in access point mode (AC68U; 378.55)?

Right now, the router insists on staying in IPv4 land, although the upstream router and ISP are fully enabled for IPv6 (6RD).

Aside from the means - would there be any point besides having a publicly routable address?

Has anyone tried it? Looks like I'd turn on PPS (pulse per second) in the Asuswrt-Merlin firmware and make a USB-to-Serial cable to connect the GPS receiver to my router.

Hi, and Thanks for producing this outstanding firmware. I noticed in the project git that there hasn't been a commit in a fairly long while. At the same time ASUS published their updated firmware with improvements and security fixes.

I just wondered if the project is still actively developed. I surely hope so.

my new Asus RT-AC68U with Merlin-Image, block all internet connections.
Without VPN all is working. Open .ca file in a unix editor and paste it under "Certificate Authority". Was it the right place?

Hi there,

Just got a second RT-AC87R that I have configured as a wireless bridge, using 5GHZ radio and "WDS" feature in the wireless settings tab. I will eventually run a hard line between the two routers, but for now, I thought I'd try the wireless "bridge" connection.

I first updated the firmware to Merlin's 378.54_2. Then, set up the wireless bridge stuff. It actually works pretty well! Only issue I'm having is that I get the following two warnings on the Administration/System tab:...

I'm running the latest firmware (378.55) on a RTAC68U router.

Every time I start the traffic monitor (Traffic Analyzer tab) I see network traffic flow anomalies in the form of "giant spikes" (see picture). Moreover the computed cumulative traffic (Total) makes simply no sense (16 GB in few seconds... I'd like it to be true!).

What could be causing such a weird behaviour?

I've got a RT-AC68U that is using a lot of nvram.

I noticed recently that when I set the https_cert_file, my port forwarding table disappeared. I have seen data disappear before on older routers with smaller nvram setups when I wrote past the size limit, but thought I'd never run into this with my current router. Running 'nvram show' however showed me that, yes, somehow I'd managed to fill up 64k of nvram memory:

If possible, I'd like to:

Disable TLS 1.0 and 1.1 as well as restrict the cipher suite.
Disable Secure Client-Initiated Renegotiation

Enable:
OCSP stapling,
Strict Transport Security (HSTS),
Public Key Pinning (HPKP)

but I'll take what I can get.

Asuswrt-Merlin 378.56 beta 1 is now available.

Note 1: There seems to be some issues with Mediafire lately. I currently have a support ticket open with them, but so far am having little luck. If your download has a weird filename, don't be alarmed. Just double check the firmware inside the zipfile to confirm it's the right one. I'm starting to look into my options.
Update: Mediafire still working on my issue. In the meantime, I am mirroring the latest downloads on...

I am on the latest Merlin firmware

I successfully installed asterisk18 through entware on the AC66U. I have three SIP devices which I successfully configured: They can call each other without problems when @home. As soon as I am remote I can still successfully register with the asterisk service (using CSipSimple on all of my devices) I can call - it rings - I pickup and then: no audio in both directions.

I've had a RT-AC66U for over a year and it has been working flawlessly even on stock firmware.

I recently moved to a new house; and had to move from fiber to cable. So a new ISP and new HW, and the setup has been unstable to say the least. The problem is that the router looses internet connection.

After I started having issues I upgraded to Merlin, but the situation is just the same.

I purchased an Arris 6184 modem and I'm connected to Time Warner in SoCal.

I have an Assus RT-N66U running merlin 378.54_2 and I have a Motorola Surfboard 6183 hooked up to RCN's 155/15 connection. When I connect directly to the modem I get speeds anywhere from 178-200+ but once I hook the modem to the router and connect using ethernet on the router I am getting speeds of 95-115. I don't know where I am losing close to 100mbps in my router. I don't know a whole lot about networking so I am kind of new to this whole thing. I am trying to figure out what I can...
