Optimal Router Temperature

Hi guys I was just wondering what is the optimal or normal working temperature of our router. I'm currently using the AC88U and I just want to know is this the normal temp?

I just need some clarification so that I wouldn't worry too much :)

No internet on Samsung devices when VPN is on.

I hope someone can help me with this odd problem.

I have setup Torguard VPN on my AC68U. When i turn on the VPN all Samsung devices (3 phones 2 smart tv) says no internet connection but are still connected to Wifi.

Other devices like Huawei, iPhone etc works fine.

I have attached the VPN setup. I hope someone can help me with this

AC86U sometimes powers completely off during reboot

Occationally when I reboot (either through the GUI, or reboot command in a terminal), my 86U powers off completely, even though the power button is still on. Typically not a problem as I can go toggle the button, but a huge problem when I am remote! So when this happens, all lights are off and I have to either unplug and plug back in, or I can toggle the power button off, followed by pushing back in to power it on again.

Has anyone else seen this? And if so, how can I avoid it happening?

Just curious if anyone has experienced this issue with Merlin compared to the stock FW, especially on either the AX58U/AX3000?

So I started out with a brand new RT-AX3000 a month ago and am not sure what to make of this — the drop in BOTH wired and wireless download speeds.

Only about a dozen mixed clients (n & ac), with less than 10 active at any one time (laptop, smartphones, tablets, smart TV, streaming boxes, etc. so somewhat light by today’s standards).

Not sure it's strickly related to FW upgrade to Merlin 384.18 on a RT-AC66U B1, but since yesterday, from the first reboot I did after Fw update, I see this error on pyLoad Log:

After switching to opnsense as my mainrouter, I'm using my AC66U (running Johns Fork) in AP mode. I'm scripting it to tag different SSIDs and LAN-Ports with VLANs and send the traffic via a single connection to the opnsense what worked quite well for some SSIDs. For some others WPA2 authentication was not possible (timeouts). I'm aware of the eapd-restart and some SSIDs work fine, so I'm guessing theres another issue and I did some trial&error. Issue with Parental Control - Time Scheduling

Time scheduling does not work anymore for some clients, however, it still works for others. It had been working fine for quite some time before that.
Those problematic clients connect via wifi (not sure this is a factor, their are Android phones so I cannot test them with a wired connection). As soon as time scheduling is enabled, their internet Connection is blocked, regardless of the time of the day. Even if the time management schedule is edited to allow every hours of every day, internet...

Can't Login to GUI

I have been running into an intermittent problem on multiple Asus Routers, all running Asus Merlin Ver 384.17. About once every couple of weeks, the router gets into a state where I can no longer log in the the GUI interface. When I try to login, I get the username / password window, but then just a blank screen that eventually times out. Once this happens, I can't even get the logon screen.

While the router is in this state, it seems to still be fully functional. Data is still routed...

Hi - somewhat of a newbie here and first time poster. I have an odd problem that I have not found a continuous thread on (just sporadic mention) despite deep searching.
Issue is this: After I upgraded to .15 release for Merlin, I can only get into my router via certain endpoints, e.g. works on my phone (via wifi and browser, not the app) and hard connected PC, but not on my iPad or laptop (via wifi) - although it used to work from ANY endpoint before I upgraded. Hello,

I have an RT-AC68U, flashed to ASUSwrt-merlin 384.16 which works fine as stand-alone router

I wanted to expand my home network to reach some dark areas, so I bought a pair of RT-AX92U from eBay, expecting to connect all 3 routers in a single AiMesh.

I installed one of the AX92U's as main router, the other AX92U as node and all works perfectly.

The problem came when trying to use the AC68U as node, as the AX92U cannot find it. I followed the instructions step by step several...

Hi all,
I'm using a (new in Dec 2019) RT-AX88U with Merlin 384.18 firmware, and previously 384.17 etc. I've always been running Merlin on this box. This is probably the ISP problem, but has anyone else had problems with ASUS routers when using this ISP in the last two months?

For those not in the UK this is a cable ISP and provides a DOCSIS 3.0 all in one router / modem made by Arris, and branded the "Hub 3.0". This box comes in router mode, with AC dual band WiFi and 4 ethernet ports. It...
