Hi there,

I migrated / updated to the latest Merlin WRT (384.17)

Right after this I had some trouble with my PC (Asus PCE 88 Card), and some Apple devices as well as my Mate 20 Pro. These hickups went by.

However the Mate 20 Pro keeps making problems, in that way, that it connects to 4G or shows Wifi signal, but no internet (Wifi+ is disbaled). Connecting via Asus App aint possible. Since I made a few tweeks (like DNS filtering), I decactivated them, and still had the problems. Now I have...

Is it possible to have the parental controls available in AP mode? (to control wifi access time on particulars mac addresses.)

I signed up to ExpressVPN this week where their knowledge with Merlin is limited. Apart from this enquiry, their live support is fantastic with no waiting times.

I found information about setting up a VPN with a kill switch here.

When I spoke to ExpressVPN support twice, they said it's best to use their VPN application on my PC if I wish to use a kill switch. My question is this, does the Merlin VPN kill switch works?...

So I updated my router(AC86U)/nodes(AC88U, 2x AC5300U) to 384.18 this weekend and found the new GPL's this is based on now allow setting fixed channel and bandwidth even with Smart Connect enabled - HALLELUJAH!

I should say I skipped 384.17 so please let me know if it was introduced then and I'll update my comments.

Is open nat possible on my Asus rt-ac3200 with latest Merlin?

I am using frets ipv6 and those test pass, opened up port forwarding for Xbox live. Set aside an static up on the dhcp server setting for the Computer. Upnp is on. But no matter what, I am getting strict NAT on windows 10 xbox gaming services.

Dont know what else to try.

If not, is there a router that does support full cone for open nat?

There was a thread here by another poster. There were some disagreements and that thread was deleted. I found the script by @Martineau on Pastebin, but I have this total inability to grasp scripting so can we bring it back? I'm technically proficient in most things networking, though I am an amateur working on my own network only.

Hi all,
I'm using a (new in Dec 2019) RT-AX88U with Merlin 384.18 firmware, and previously 384.17 etc. I've always been running Merlin on this box. This is probably the ISP problem, but has anyone else had problems with ASUS routers when using this ISP in the last two months?

For those not in the UK this is a cable ISP and provides a DOCSIS 3.0 all in one router / modem made by Arris, and branded the "Hub 3.0". This box comes in router mode, with AC dual band WiFi and 4 ethernet ports. It...

AiMesh Newbe Curiosity Questions

Per RT-AC86U router with RT-AC68P node.

1. Are changes to the router automatically applied to the node? Things like "Wireless Mode" or "Channel bandwidth", Etc?
2. If I reboot the router or schedule a reboot every Sunday AM, will the node reboot also?
3. Any words of wisdom regarding configuring the router?

Hi all,

just upgraded our fibre broadband from 500mbs to the new 1gig service, which comes with the new Superhub 4. Always used our previous 500 service in modem mode with an ASUS AC88u doing the heavy lifting. Tried to connect the hub 4 in the same manner with a fresh out of the box AX88U (latest Merlin xx.xx18 applied) and can't get the ASUS Â to connect at all, red light on connection LED... in the admin console for the ASUS, it says something along the lines of 'ISP DHCP server is not...

Import Merlin settings > original/non-Merlin firmware

Apologies if this has been asked, but is it possible to import Merlin settings (i.e. AC5300) to a non-Merlin device (i.e. AX11000)?

I don't want to go through the motions and barf my network...
(don't have visibility into what is saved in the CFG file)

Hello.
Currently at Traffic Analyzer -> Statistic -> Top 5 the pie chart shows only 5 devices, which is a little misleading (arguably useless) because it only compares the data between these 5 devices. So if one device shows as half of the pie, we still don't know how much percentage overall that is, it could be 50% or it could be 0.1%
Would be nice if the pie showed 6th part as combined data for the rest of the devices, this way it will be showing how much data each of these 5 devices used...
