Should I upgrade to this firmware from Stock ASUS for AX88U?

Hi, I have been a long time user of this firmware for my AC66 then AC68U (at least 4 years). I would like to know if I should upgrade to this firmware for the AX88U which I just purchased? It's currently on this firmware 3.0.0.4.384.8018

Moving to RT68U from Plusnet router

Hi,

I flashed my router to the latest Merlin and was hoping to use this router with OpenVPN but every time I configure my RT68 in PPPOE it does not connect with the same IP I get from the plusnet router where it should delived a static addres.

Dont know if the sttings are correct above.

I need some assistance on configuring the rt68U to work with Plusnet, Any help gratefully acknowledged

Have an RT-AC87 on Merlin. Noticed lately my wifi speeds have been garbage on both bands. Doesn't seem to matter if i'm standing right next to the router or two floors up. If i'm hard wired in, i'll get between 600-800 Mbps. Wifi right now is topping 20-40. To help narrow the problem down I removed my Asus router from my network and rolled it back to the ISP provided one. As soon as I did this my wifi speeds went back to normal. I went ahead and wiped the Merlin back to defaults,...

Time to replace my router?

Wifi , my laptop doesnt choose the best network

Hi,
on main floor , i have an rt86u
wifi setting,, channel 6 , WPA2 AES

on first floor, an older accesspoint
wifi setting, channel 11 , wpa2 AES

my laptop is almost next to the asus, but it always wants to choose the AP upstairs? why ?
other clients like a android, google mini's, choose the correct accpoints ...

why wants my laptop the worst connection?

for 5Ghz wifi, switching network works when i walk up/down stairs...


i also tried switching channels, like 86u on 11 , and the other...

Anyone had recently problems with CloudFlare DoT?

Today I noticed problems working with Facebook. The browser (Mozilla) hanged on connection to static.xx.fbcdn.net. All other sites seems to be resolved fine. The problem appeared on all devices connected to the router (Windows and Linux PCs and Android phones). Finally I resolved it by switching to Quad9 DoT. In the begining I've just added Quad9 - the problem has been resolved partially. Still some unstabillity appear. When totaly removed...

Hi all, I have a 68U router I bought in HK and installed the Merlin firmware with no problem and all has been perfect for a couple years.

However, I am in Vietnam and would like to bring my router here, but a question/comment came up.

wireless scheduler issue

hi,
i have RT-AC66U_B1 with merlin firmware for RT-AC68U as official guidlines claim
when i turn on wifi scheduler on wireless -> professional for 2,4 or 5 Ghz setting, click ok and then when I come back to that settings its set back to "No"

i have firmware Version:384.16, but with 384.15 it was the same.

any hint ?

100% cpu usage on core 1 of AC88U

Hello,

I've been using the Merlin firmware for my router for quite a while now, and just today I noticed that core 1 on my Asus AC88U is pegged at 100% all of the time, and restarting the router does not solve the issue. This must have started in the last week, because I updated to the newest firmware about a week ago, and the router was not having this issue.

Is there a way to see what is using the processor in the router (similar to task manager)? The only thing I've done recently was...

I managed to get link aggregation working with the 68u router model and wanted to share my method in this how-to guide.

Environment

- Router Model: AC68U using ports 3 & 4
- Firmware: Asuswrt-Merlin 376.47 with JFFS enabed
- Switch: Netgear GSM7224R (including other 802.3ad capable switches)

5 GHz Ping spikes - RT-AX88U

My RT-AX88U on Merlin 384.16 (dirty upgrade from .15 - which was a clean install) gives us ping spikes up to a second - sometimes every 2-3 minutes. My son is a gamer - and is frustrated:) He is the only client on the 5 GHz net (channel bandwidth 80 MHz) - everything else is on 2.4 GHz.
It happens if we share some bandwidth with neighbours. If I select a clean DFS channel - we do not see the problem. If we could just stay there all would be fine, but the DFS channel detection sometimes...

Script disappeared

Today I was troubleshooting a problem on my RT-AC68P with v384.15 and I discovered that my 'services-start' script was missing. I looked back at my backups and it appears that it went away sometime within the last year. I was using 'services-start' to execute a python script that checked on reboot to make sure I got a good external IP address from my AT&T gateway device.

I see that some new scripts were added, e.g, 'service-event'.
