I currently have a RT-AC3200 Running Merlin. I have been thinking about possible upgrades
before I get my fiber internet installed. Does the community have any suggestions? Or is my
current router plenty enough? Thanks in Advance!

RT-AC86U 384.16 B3, RT-AC68U aimesh node w/ 384.16, Diversion, uiDivstats, Skynet, AiProtection, Scribe, uiScribe, Conmon, spdMerlin, scMerlin, Nsrum, 250/10 broadband with Netgear CM-1000 docsis 3.1 modem.

I couldn't log into my router this morning, like it was froze up. I switched it and the modem off then back on, then had a lot of these in the log:
Apr 13 09:52:30 RT-AC86U-8F38 kernel: br0: received packet on eth3 with own address as source address

And this is what was in the skynet...

My internet recently went out due to an ISP issue. During this state, I discovered that the devices on my LAN could not connect to each other.

I'm running Merlin 384.15 on an AC68U clone (AC1900P). I have DNSFilter enabled with DoT pointing at Quad9. It's a pretty vanilla setup except for using YazFi to isolate separate guest and IoT vlans, with a little custom section in iptables to allow the guest vlan to access a printer.

I imagine this could be an iptables problem, but am far from an...

Hello all

Wondering if someone can shed some light on what these are and if there is any resolution to these appearing in the log. Its been mentioned on here a couple of times but I can't see a clear answer or resolution as to why this happens.

Besides my AC86U (384.9) consistently dropping/reconnecting 5Ghz clients (regardless of MIMO/Fairness/Beamforming settings) and the annoying WLAN Assoc/Disassoc messages flooding the syslog.

I run a webserver behind my Router via ethernet and...

(NOOB) Definition of "minimal and manual configuration"

I seen this advice repeated over and over.
However, even after searching, I can't find any specifics as to what "minimal and manual configuration" means.

The closest I've found is: "....just enough customization to connect to your ISP and secure the router's gui and wireless networks you have enabled."

Can anybody provide a specific list of settings that 'shouldn't be missed' in a minimal configuration?

Unable to Connect with HTTPS Server behind Merlin Router

I am trying to connect to a web server that is running on my LAN, from the internet. I am running the latest Merlin FW and have forwarded ports 80,443 TCP to my local web server IP. While I can connect to the web server just fine from another PC on the LAN, I get SSL sockets errors when trying from the internet. I also temporarily configured the server to use just standard HTTP (port 80) and confirmed that it worked just as expected from the internet, so the problem appears to be related...

Can anyone advise me how best to set up QoS please? In particular…

Is it better to select manual or automatic setting?

Given that the main bandwidth-sensitive functions in my household are streaming and intermittent gaming (mostly using an xBox), which pre-set should I choose?

First and foremost apologies if this has been discussed before. I tried to search within the forums but couldn't find a thread. My question deals with device icons displayed in the Web UI.
  1. How come the router is displaying some icons that are not available for manual selection? For example I have a Synology NAS, the router is displaying a Synology icon but I'm not seeing how I can select this icon for other devices.

Hello,

i have buy for few days my ASUS AC88U Router and flash them with "asus merlin".
Network Speed is on 2.4 and 5.0 GHZ Band perfectly.

I have found a Amazon Dashbutton its connect to 2.4GHZ and block internet access.
I found few "scripts" to load a action when the Button is pressed but DNSMASQ give me an error and
the few wlan devices cant login into wlan.

Merlin 384.16 random reboots on AC68U

Hi,
Just updated from 384.15 to 384.16 on both items. I have two AC68U, one router and one media bridge.
On the media bridge I noticed seldom reboot issues, maybe 2-3 a day. Today I lost a videoconference to the office so it was quite annoying. Never had this before.
This is what I see:
