Cannot access asus router admin page but have full wired internet connection?

Hello, the title explains my very recent(today)problem,have tried 3 different browsers -Chrome,Firefox and Edge and rebooted pc after each but the page never loads and does not give any error messages.I have not done any windows updates for over 1 week and I always connect via ethernet cable, so far my troubleshooting consists of:
1. Tried http://router.asus.com/ but just says "this site cannot be reached"

2. cmd`d "ipconfig /all" and i believe the result is good - shows...

RT-AX88U snmpd - mini Guide

as discused in this thread f the normal snmpd crashed on the RT-AX88U.
So i tryed the mini-snmp package from entware, wich runs totally fine. Just want to share, if someone need this.

install mini_snmpd, snmp-utils

RT-AC88U after electrical blackout problem opening port 3389...

I am amazed but this problem occurs every time.
I have the latest Merlin firmware version 384.13.0 on RT-AC88U.
I opened ports for EMule for PC A and B and port 3389 for PC C.
If it happens that there is an electrical blackout and the router turns off, when the electric current returns the eMule open ports work, while there is no way to connect remotely with remote desktop to PC C.
I tried everything and in the end I only succeeded in re-flashing the same firmware version (I restarted the...

Hi All,

I just loaded Asus Merlin fimrware and love it!

I wanted to set up a specific routing rule and am confused on how to do it on the UI.

I basically wanted to set a specific internal IP(item on my network) (static) 192.168.2.26 (for example) to block all traffic outgoing ingoing to it.

Then allow only certain websites to access (siteexample.com) that device and not allow other sites and route the traffic on top of that through a VPN Server(NordVPN) ( which i setup on the VPN setting...

Right now I use PI-hole on a Rpi2 as a whole home adblocker... I am confused by all the other adblockers that run on the router itself. Is there any advantage to any of them vs PiHole?

Additional Device Icons

First and foremost apologies if this has been discussed before. I tried to search within the forums but couldn't find a thread. My question deals with device icons displayed in the Web UI.
  1. How come the router is displaying some icons that are not available for manual selection? For example I have a Synology NAS, the router is displaying a Synology icon but I'm not seeing how I can select this icon for other devices.

Hi there,
This thread is about GNUton's Merlin builds for DSL devices.

* A few words about how this project started:
Some days back I bought a DSL-AC68U. I got a used one for 40 euros. As far as I know, this devices is pretty much as an RT-AC68U but it sells cheaper because... maybe... there is no custom firmware for it, so people think they are worse.
Then I decided to make an experiment, let's see how much the price of these devices will be once people will know that there are Asus...

Proper/best way to block traffic from external range, including port forwards

So I have several port forwards setup on my device (using the GUI).

I know the default firewall blocks all incoming traffic, but obviously port forwards are still acessible.
I want to be able to block all traffic from a particular IP or range of IPs. Preferably block just to a particular forwarded port, but if required all ports will work.

I assume I will want to use some type of iptables drop rule?
Can someone help me with the proper way to add this, and the best place/script to put it?...

CPU at 100%

The display on the web interface is showing that Core 1 is running at 100% so I SSH'd on and ran the top command, pressed 1 to show the two cores and now I'm confused as the total CPU is just over 1%.

I can see that the nice and idle values are however showing a different story. From what I can see top, ps etc within the busybox image provided don't have the ability to show ni values against tasks so is there are way to show them? If I re-boot the router (AC3200) then the core drops back...

I'm having a lot of issues with my Asus RT-AX88U running 384.13 and DHCP on WAN.

I've been moving a lot lately due to evacuation from my house so my Asus RT-AX88U has been connected to a lot of different ISP devices and it's giving me a really hard time with DHCP on WAN.

When connected to a Sagemcom 3890v3 I had to spend 1-2 hours for it to finally pick up a IP using DHCP on the WAN connection. And I lost the WAN connection 1-2 times every 1-2 days. Didn't matter if the 3890v3 was in...

How to set up DNS over TLS 384.13?

Thought I had this figured out in 384.11 but the changes I see in the change log for .12 and 13 and the discussion board have my head spinning.

Could someone be so kind as to please itemize the changes needed to the settings in 384.13 so that DNS-over-TLS is enabled properly in 384.13. Assume we are starting from scratch with the router just having been freshly factory reset. I was going to use cloudflare preset.

New RT-AC86U starting from scratch

So I bought the Asus RT-AC86U as recommended.

Some of you already read and have been assisting me in my other threads, I thought it a good idea to start a new one.

My goal, install latest merlin, connect to my ISP router (router 1) via power lines to the new RT-ac86u (router 2) upstairs.

Get openvpn up and running so I can connect to it remotely and browse my Lan, turn my server on and off.

Router 1 subnet is 192.168.1.1 and router 2 will be 192.168.11.1, router 1 will issue router 2...

Asus Lets Encrypt Certificate will not renew

I have an ASUS RT-AC88U router with lets encrypt enabled. The certificate is shown as dated 2018. When I visit my router via WAN I am getting a browser security certificate warning.

Is there a way to fix this problem.
