Is H/W Version B2 of RT-AC68U Supported?

Sorry to risk the wrath, however: On the Merlin website, support for RT-AC68U is described as follows:

RT-AC68U (including revisions C1 and E1) ---> italics are mine

which makes me wonder if I need to ask about B2 specifically.

WAN PORT Speeds

I have an Asus RT-AC88U router with a Netgear CM1150V cable modem.

The Router is running 384.13 Merlin - I am concerned only with WIRED connections at this time. All devices have their latest OS and Driver updates.

I am paying for 500+ download with Comcast/xFinity

When my PC is connected (wired) to the modem speed tests show 500+mb/s download. When the PC is connected to the router's LAN I am getting 300mb/s download.

All devices, phones, tablets, PCs, wired, wireless, etc...all...

Hey all. I've been a happy user of Merlin on mt RT-AC3200 for a while now. However, a random problem has popped up and I'm not sure why.

I have VoIP service through my ISP (Start.ca) that I don't use often but when I do, I use the Zoiper5 softphone. It's worked well for a long time but recently, it would always time out when I tried to use it. I called Start.ca and they had me try an alternative server and finally, trying with the GrandStream Wave app on my Android phone. They also didn't...

Hello. I have a problem with my ISP being that the connection drops out pretty often. I have their router as modem and have my ASUS Merlin RT-AC68U behind it (exposed host) handling the VPN connection.

While the dropouts are a nuisance, they were not a problem for the ASUS so far as it reconnected the VPN connection whenever the ISP signal came back. As of two or three days though, the ASUS does not successfully reinitialize the VPN connection. All computer routed to use the VPN do not have...

I noticed today after enabling IPv6 and testing nextdns.io, that I was seeing AAAA requests for router.asus.com in the nextdns.io console logs. Sure enough, the hosts file has no IPv6 address for router.asus.com, so it was apparently forwarding the AAAA requests upstream with no luck.

AC86U - 384.13_0 - Guest network time remaining not working

I just found out that the guest network time remaining function doesn't really work. I turned it on yesterday at 6pm for 3 hours and just notice a few minutes ago that it's still up and the time remaining is stuck at 2 hours and 59 minutes.

Does anybody know how to fix this?

Hi all my name is sweaat , i m in trouble. i have have just receive a fresh asus router: RT-AC88U, and i want simply change the IP of local network and the vlan the apply button does nothing:
the default ip is 192.168.1.1 and the mask is 255.255.255.0. on the config DHCP server it's start ip at: 192.168.1.2 and finish at 192.168.1.253.
I just want to assign a ip: 192.168.0.1 and a dhcp who strat at: 192.168.0.2 and finish at 192.168.0.253.

I have an RT-68U router, with DD-WRT r34080.
I just can't manage to flush stock Asus firmware nor Merlin firmware.
Renaming .trx to .bin and flush on the GUI doesn't work. The Asus recovery tool (hard to find) keep telling me the router is not in recovery mode (which it is).

Does anyone have a suggestion?

I needed to restrict LAN port#4 for Internet only use, just like the Wireless Guest Network access. Then I plug an 8-port Ethernet switch into LAN port 4 of the RT-AC68U router, to expand the number of Internet-only wired connections. It is for attaching wired network devices that have no business on my local area network, but need to access the Internet.

Best router for experimenting with Merlin FW?

I have a Netgear R7800 in production right now, running Voxel's FW. It works great but I forgot how stripped the NG firmware is and I'm wanting to experiment with Merlin to see if it fits my needs better.

Here are my requirements:

1) Feature and performance parity with R7800 as best as possible (realizing the R7800 is a workhorse).
2) Don't need 8 or 10 ethernet ports. I only actually use 1 on the router itself.
3) Don't need a whole bunch of USB ports.
4) Don't need AX or AD or anything...

Best router for experimenting with Merlin FW?

Additional Device Icons

First and foremost apologies if this has been discussed before. I tried to search within the forums but couldn't find a thread. My question deals with device icons displayed in the Web UI.
  1. How come the router is displaying some icons that are not available for manual selection? For example I have a Synology NAS, the router is displaying a Synology icon but I'm not seeing how I can select this icon for other devices.

I'm having a lot of issues with my Asus RT-AX88U running 384.13 and DHCP on WAN.

I've been moving a lot lately due to evacuation from my house so my Asus RT-AX88U has been connected to a lot of different ISP devices and it's giving me a really hard time with DHCP on WAN.

When connected to a Sagemcom 3890v3 I had to spend 1-2 hours for it to finally pick up a IP using DHCP on the WAN connection. And I lost the WAN connection 1-2 times every 1-2 days. Didn't matter if the 3890v3 was in...

At another time, with the help of forum members, I wrote a post about installing the Unbound recursive DNS server on Merlin firmware. In all tests, this was the best way to incorporate unbound into Merlin firmware. It is compatible with adblock Diversion and Skynet. Thanks @SomeWhereOverTheRainBow @dave14305

Hello. I am trying to to setup a pc to go around the VPN tunnel. Using OpenVPN I have policy rules enabled with VPN and WAN as the active interfaces. I entered the pc's ip (192.168.1.135) and selected WAN as the interface with no luck.

I run Merlin 384.13 and its driving me nuts.

It turns out that this popup appears after a while when logging into the router's webui.
I can't remove that annoying warning. I only solve it temporarily by logging out and logging in again.
I have enough space in nvram.

Hi all,

I have recently installed ASUS Merlin on my AC68U router and have a few questions. This is my first ever exposure to this firmware and router configuration in general and have never previously done any router configuration at this level so please bear with me if I have missed something.

So to solve all the problems with installing dnscrypt with entware (or similar) then setting up various scripts to handle dnscrypt-proxy starting up including the ntp issue, I made my own installer for dnscrypt-proxy.

Requirements:
- ARM or MIPSEL based ASUS routers
- asuswrt-merlin firmwares or compatible
- jffs support and script enabled

Incompatibilities:
