Additional Device Icons

First and foremost apologies if this has been discussed before. I tried to search within the forums but couldn't find a thread. My question deals with device icons displayed in the Web UI.
  1. How come the router is displaying some icons that are not available for manual selection? For example I have a Synology NAS, the router is displaying a Synology icon but I'm not seeing how I can select this icon for other devices.

CPU at 100%

The display on the web interface is showing that Core 1 is running at 100% so I SSH'd on and ran the top command, pressed 1 to show the two cores and now I'm confused as the total CPU is just over 1%.

I can see that the nice and idle values are however showing a different story. From what I can see top, ps etc within the busybox image provided don't have the ability to show ni values against tasks so is there are way to show them? If I re-boot the router (AC3200) then the core drops back...

I have a Synology Diskstation connected to my network via an ASUS RT-AX88U router, both of which offer VPN features. However, knowing very little about how VPNs are set up, I thought I'd better seek some advice here first to point me in the right direction.

AC3100 Check Sum Not matching.

I have downloaded the newest stable Merlin Firmware for the AC3100 from both the main site and the mirror, but neither of them gives me a file where the SHA256 check sum matches what is posted on the site. I am checking the .trx file after unzipping it to the desktop. Is this the correct file to check or should I be checking another file?

I have been having an issue with the 384.13 version on an RT-AC88U router. After a couple of days, I can no longer access the router using a browser or the ASUS Router app on my iPhone. The router is still running and I can get to the internet and other devices.

Is this a known problem? is there some way I can get it running again by ssh'ing into the router without having to reboot?

I can't go back to the stock ASUS firmware because the latest version caused my samba shares to stop...

I am amazed but this problem occurs every time.
I have the latest Merlin firmware version 384.13.0 on RT-AC88U.
I opened ports for EMule for PC A and B and port 3389 for PC C.
If it happens that there is an electrical blackout and the router turns off, when the electric current returns the eMule open ports work, while there is no way to connect remotely with remote desktop to PC C.

Hello. I have a problem with my ISP being that the connection drops out pretty often. I have their router as modem and have my ASUS Merlin RT-AC68U behind it (exposed host) handling the VPN connection.

While the dropouts are a nuisance, they were not a problem for the ASUS so far as it reconnected the VPN connection whenever the ISP signal came back. As of two or three days though, the ASUS does not successfully reinitialize the VPN connection. All computer routed to use the VPN do not have...

A few things,
First, I cant connect to my ISP's email server. They confirmed that it's not them and it's me. I've tested that theory by pinging the server with my desktop and it got timed out. Then, I've pinged it with my router and it replied back.

Also, when I went to ping Google's DNS server...

On a client in my network:

Best router for experimenting with Merlin FW?

I have a Netgear R7800 in production right now, running Voxel's FW. It works great but I forgot how stripped the NG firmware is and I'm wanting to experiment with Merlin to see if it fits my needs better.

Here are my requirements:

1) Feature and performance parity with R7800 as best as possible (realizing the R7800 is a workhorse).
2) Don't need 8 or 10 ethernet ports. I only actually use 1 on the router itself.
3) Don't need a whole bunch of USB ports.
4) Don't need AX or AD or anything...

Best router for experimenting with Merlin FW?

Summary: I have have two Asus routers running Merlin firmware on a home network. One is in media bridge mode.
The clients on the media bridge have issues getting the correct IP and gateway using DHCP.

**** Main Router
Asus 1900P running Merlin 384.7_2
Connects to WAN.
Wired and wireless clients.
IP 192.168.1.1

**** Media Bridge
RT-AC68P running Merlin 384.7_2
Media Bridge Mode.
Wireless connection back to Main Router.
Wired Clients only.
IP 192.168.1.2 (statically assigned)

Greetings.

I recently purchased a WD external USB "Easystore Portable" 5TB drive and I attached it to the USB 3.0 port on the back of the RT-AC68W router running Asuswrt-Merlin version 384.13. It's formatted in NTFS.

No matter what I do, I can't get it to acknowledge it as a media drive in the Media Server section. Putting in the path and hitting apply doesn't work, as it refuses to work. Using "all disks shared" doesn't work either, it won't show up. The Seagate 4TB drive I have plugged...

I have ASUS Merlin on an ASUS RT-AC68U on the latest firmware as of this post it's 384.13 and decided to try the Asus Merlin SkyNet Project but it made things really bizzard really quickly - My Family uses Charter / Spectrum and I use a Verizon Modem on my own ASUS routers - regardless both of them are on 384.13 and both are almost unusuable with the default settings - I thougth about resetting the device but I don't want to worry about the massive issues with IP Addresses not working since...

Hi All,

I just loaded Asus Merlin fimrware and love it!

I wanted to set up a specific routing rule and am confused on how to do it on the UI.

I basically wanted to set a specific internal IP(item on my network) (static) 192.168.2.26 (for example) to block all traffic outgoing ingoing to it.

Then allow only certain websites to access (siteexample.com) that device and not allow other sites and route the traffic on top of that through a VPN Server(NordVPN) ( which i setup on the VPN setting...

Running Merlin 384.13 on the Asus RT-AC88U router and DSM 6.2.2-24922 Update 4 on the DiskStation.

I tried hardcoding both ports to 1000 Full and the Diskstation drops off the network.

So, I'm using ASUS RT-AC87U with latest Merlin 384.13_1 and configured NextDNS (nextdns.io) for filtering with DoT enabled. The thing is, if I only use their DNS without configuration prefix, it'll work like any other DNS without a single issue. But as soon as I'm using configured DNS with a prefix on DoT address, things would just stop resolving randomly and webpages won't load and I even had connection failure during Quake Champions.

What seems to be weird here is that no one else seems...

Hi all my name is sweaat , i m in trouble. i have have just receive a fresh asus router: RT-AC88U, and i want simply change the IP of local network and the vlan the apply button does nothing:
