Weird website issue - seem to be something with the router..

If I browse to this website:

I get a page off this website:
https://www.spiceoflifepharmacy.com

1. It only happens on devices connected to the router.
2. It happens on two different PC, all browsers and my android mobile
3. If I engage the VPN on the PC or switch to Verizion data - I get the correct website.
4. If I bypass the router and connect directly to Spectrum - I get the correct site.
5. I have tried a power reset, changing DNS servers -...

NVRAM Disappeared Overnight

when i woke up this morning, none of my smart home devices worked. i found it was my router's fault. the dnsmasq tables were empty, so were the ovpn keys. restoring from a nvram backup fixed the problem. but i would like to know what caused the nvram content to "disappear" overnight. i have scribe installed, so all the logs are available. if somebody on the forum can please tell me which logfiles to post, maybe there's a way to find the culprit? best, manu

Accessing LAN client when connected to OpenVPN Server

Good morning,
I have set-up an OpenVPN server (using TUN) on my RT-AC87U with 384.13_1, and I can access it without any problem from a remote W10 PC client.
When connected, I can ssh (via putty) to the router (192.168.1.1) and I can access my W10 & W8.1 client using RDP.
So far so good.

But I cannot access a my access point (a Netgear WNR3500Lv2 installed with Tomato) that has 192.168.1.100 static ip. (I can of course access it if I use one of my Windows PC connected via RDP).

Disappointing DNSSEC coverage

I've been using DNSSEC with Stubby and was curious about how often I'm "protected" by DNSSEC. Since I run Diversion with logging, I scanned my dnsmasq logs for the number of INSECURE, SECURE or BOGUS results. I was very disappointed to see that most of my home's queries were INSECURE, and only a small handful SECURE.

This is probably a skewed sample because I run Diversion and any other shady domain names were probably blocked before being forwarded for DNSSEC validation, so I wasn't...

Hello

I have a Fritzbox on WAN port of a AC88U router which runs also an OpenVPN server.
I want to access the Fritzbox GUI from a client connected using OpenVPN.
Config is

Fritzbox: 10.10.10.1
Router WAN: 10.10.10.10
Router LAN: 10.10.1.0/255.255.255.0
Router OpenVPN subnet 10.10.0.0/255.255.255.0
OpenVPN client Router LAN 10.10.2.0/255.255.255.0

Hi,

This is my first post on the forums, I recently bought a ASUS AC86U to use for with OpenVPN, however I am having an issue and wondered if I am just making a rookie mistake.

I have the VPN working fine and the router set to the following;

Connect to DNS Server automatically - no, using cloud flare dns servers for none vpn traffic.

In VPN settings;
Accept DNS Configuration - Exclusive
Policy rules - strict
Block routed clients - yes

I'm using the latest Merlin firmware but don't know if this is a Merlin problem or ASUS problem with the base firmware (on a ASUS RT-AC68U).

My settings look like this:

And I keep getting the yellow error msg in the screenshot. I've tried several different NTP servers, such as, pool.ntp.org, 0.north-america.pool.ntp.org, 1.north-america.pool.ntp.org and time.nist.gov, but none ever resolve and sync up the time. On a whim I pinged pool.ntp.org and got the IP...

Hi,

I have configured OpenVPN server on my RT-AC88U (latest Merlin fw 384.13). I identified one problem. My OpenVPN server is used for site to site connection.

- Manage Client-Specific Options - Yes
- Allow Client <-> Client - Yes
- Allow only specified clients - Yes

All working fine. After router reboot or power OFF and ON, all settings are preserved, but if OpenVPN server is disabled via GUI and then is enabled again via GUI, Allowed Clients are gone :-(

IPv6 firewall fails to function.

RT-AC56R 384.6 (latest for this model at time of posting)
IPv6 firewall on/off switch seems to generate a complete blockage in the "on" position and had none of the rules entered in the GUI. In the "off" position it drops bad packets, but otherwise allows nearly everything through. Anyone have thoughts on this?

Configuring Static WAN IP through NAT

Hi,

I've been using Asuswrt-Merlin for some time but have limited NAT knowledge. Having exhausted everything I could think of to fix this, it is time to admit defeat and reach out for help.

I've recently switched to a static WAN IP, and after configuring the firewalls NAT table as below, I've been unable to access the internal service on below port using the external public WAN IP:

How can I use user script in AI Mesh nodes?

Hello, I have a question about script.
I am using 3 AC-68U routers, they are runing in 384.13, one is router, the others are nodes.
It seems that if I enable the ai-mesh node mode, the device will reset its nvram which means I cannot enable the jffs scripts.
My goal is to use scripts to auto reboot if the nodes cannot get the internet connection, because it did happen to lost connection sometimes. And if you see the interface of the router, you cannot find the nodes.

Using pihole causes the router to stop resolving

Hello,

I'm currently using PiHole on a raspberry pi model 3B+ for my DNS filtering/resolving needs and I set its LAN IP address in the WAN DNS page of the router. All works good for some days but then the router randomly stops resolving addresses. The solution is then to either restart the router or set/reset the WAN DNS. My router is a AC88U running the latest merlin firmware. Any ideas why this is happening?

So far I have been a happy ASUS DDNS user, but recently I read several posts from experts on this forum who don't use this ASUS service, but a third-party service instead, with uptime and router independence as the main reason for doing so.

DoT with OpenVPN Client

Hi

I want to switch from using my VPN provider's DNS servers to DoT servers provided by CloudFlare. I've got DoT working fine for non-VPN clients but for the clients I'm using VPN policy routing for, if I set "Accept DNS Configuration" to "Disabled", I thought the clients would default to using the DoT servers but they don't. I get DNS probe errors and no internet.

Is there a way to do this?
