Multicast traffic from OpenVPN TUN to BR0

I use a non-jailbroken iPhone. I have OpenVPN server running on my RT-68AC router. I have a Dish Network receiver that listens for SSDP traffic for Multicast address "239.255.255.250" on port "1900". I have an app on my iPhone that enables me to interact with the Dish Receiver. Note that I have to use OpenVPN in TUN mode because the client device is iPhone.

Now, when my iPhone is on Wifi, the app finds the receiver. When my iPhone is remote and I am VPNed into my router, the app does not...

amas_lib high cpu usage

I am seeing very high cpu usage by amas_lib. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it starts it just keeps running like it's caught in a loop. If I kill the process or reboot it's fine until something triggers it into running. I'm running 384.10_beta1 on a RT-AC68U.

RT-AC68U Port Forwarding and WAN Accsess issue

I find some problems with my internate provider, so that I do complet reinstal my router with nvram cleanup (I hope so). Now, with 384.9 firmware, I could do nothing with ports: I cannot forward ports, cannot access WebIU or SSH from WAN. System even doesn’t response on ping from WAN. But I do allow all this stuff in WebUI. The only thing, I can do - I can get correct DDNS and Let’s Encrypt, but I cannot use them.
Could you kindly give me some advice on my topic?

Hi,

I have an ASUS RT-AC68P that I just installed Merlin WRT on. Like the below video, I did this because I didn't want my entire network (already pretty slow) to go through the VPN and subject it all to slow speeds. I just wanted to use it for a machine or two.

I had no problems using my existing paid VPN service (Getflix) before upgrading the Asus Router to Merlin.

My entire Network was super slow though.

2 routers, vpn on one, tor on second

Hi,

Is this possible?
I wanna plug second router to first (1lan port) second router (wan port)
Set vpn on first router for mac address of second router, next set tor connection(on second router) for laptop wifi connected to second router.

In this configuration my traffic goes in this way? ISP->VPN -> TOR -wifi laptop,
IS go thru vpn that my ISP don't see im connectiong to TOR network?

I was planning to use my RT-AC56U as a serial debug bridge for an Odroid board which is close by. I hooked up a USB cp210x adapter into its USB port, but it seems that support for it was not included in the kernel:

Hi

RT-AC87U, Firmware Version 384.9

Router 1, VPN
Router 2, Non VPN

The both routers do have VPN servers setup in them, but mostly Router 2 is used with passthrough to WAN, TV,Lights,Xbox, NAS etc go to WAN

So 53 devices connected to Router 2, all set to WAN

I log into the router 2 wifi when I want to access my billing programs on my NAS, so only connecting local. But windows 10 has things running in background, the email program for example.

So I thought I would set this laptop to...

How often do you guys reboot?

AC-3200 here, Merlin + Skynet, DNSCrypt, Pixelserv-TLS, Diversion.

Seems like I have to reboot the router every 10-15 days because the internet connection drops. Everything appears normal, the lights are normal, devices connect to the router normally, but there is no internet.

I'd be glad for any thoughts y'all might have on this. Thanks!

Not sure why but in the past couple weeks I started to get short internet connection dropouts.
When I check logs I get this error, sometimes several times in row, sometimes only once

Asus RT-AC88U with 384_9 firmware - reboot after IPSec vpn connection

Hi all,

need some help as i have some problems with IPSec VPN server and macos users connecting and using samba protocol to network drive. Router reboot with log [see attached] . PPTP server working from Windows client without any problems. Can`t use it as mac os does not have pptp.


Any idea how to resolve it? Thanks a lot.

AC86U dcd tainted on Merlin 384.8_2

I have been resisting the update to 384.9 due to the dcd crash being seen in it on the AC86U. But I just started seeing these crashes in my system log and I am on 384.8_2. So, are we really sure this is a new error in Asus'/Trend Micro code or is it something else external?

Just wanted to share/document two devices which were hacked.

I manage 7 ac88u's for various family members homes. I recently checked all of them and two had Asian letters after I logged in. Hmm, interesting. After some digging, I found that both had a PP2P VPN set up as servers. Logs have been cleared, how convenient.

Here is the setup which all of them had before the compromise.
- No remote wan
- No remote ping
- All had DDNS with a similar name, just the post-fix changing
- All had the...

My router after reboot changes disk names from sda to sdb & back, if I reboot another time. o_O
I give labels to both disks - NET & NET2 ,but it happens again! :eek:

Hello all,

Please forgive the question if it's been answered elsewhere. Copious searching has not yielded an answer yet.

I've got 2 RT-AC3200 routers, both running 380.62_2. One is in "Wireless Router" mode and hooked up to one part of the network. The other is in "Media Bridge" mode and hooked up to a switch on a different part of the network.

The long and short of it is that it appears that I can only ever get 7 clients to be able to connect through the bridge. These systems have...

Constant disconnects...

Hi..
Ever since I flashed this firmware I have been having issues with a game called Apex Legends....
High ping, constant disconnects from the game servers

If I switch to the ISP router, I have no issues at all.
As soon as I switch back to Asus, immediate issues.

But, I only have issues with this particular game, not really issue with Internet browsing or getting disconnected from the Internet.

For some reason this game does not like this router/firmware... It doesn't matter if I connect...

Constant disconnects...
