Hello, everybody!

Would appreciate your help with solving of the following problem with my internet connection via usb-modem. I'm currently using RT-AC66U with USB LTE Modem E392 and experience periodical connection drops...restart of the router helps for some period of time...Then I usually receive WAN Connection: ISP's DHCP did not function properly. I'm not good at log reading, but thought, that it might be problem with getting renewed IP from ISP and I wonder if there is any way...

Hello everyone,

I bought a new Asus AC3200 last week and I've been fighting to correctly set it up for 7 days already.

I've updated the firmware to Merlin 380.64_2 and I was finally able to set up Port Forwarding which I was unable to do it using Asus firmware.

But now I have two more issues I couldn't solve. I've been looking all over the internet to find solutions but was not able to find anybody else who has similar issues, so I decided to sign up here and ask. Hopefully I'm asking on...

SSL Certificate Error

Hi All, not sure if this is specific to the merlinwrt firmware or just all SSL requests passing through AI.

If I browse to a blocked category (AI Protection, Parental Controls, Web and app filter) which happens to be an SSL URL, I get a certificate error and the browser is redirected to (actual example, malicious site):

https://router.ip.address:8443/blocking.asp?cat_id=79

If I click proceed to site it gives me the proper Asus block page.

Is there any way we can stop the...

Adaptive QOS, how to manage default category priority?

Adaptive QOS works amazing but I have a big issue with the groups. The issue is caused by the existence of the default category.

If you go to the QOS statistics, it shows you your current priority queue and the last 3 seconds of each categories utilization. My setup is as follows.

Class Total Rate Packet rate
  • Net Control Packets
  • VoIP and Instant Messaging
  • Others
  • Gaming
  • Web Surfing
  • Video and Audio Streaming
  • File Transferring...

Hi I have problem with browsing internet when connected with VPN thru my Router. I have put all the information on the PPTP client.. when I activate it, It works for couple of minutes and then it stops working. when I was in stock Asus WRT firmware I used to get "The WAN IP is not the external IP. External IP-based services will not work" message and I changed to Merlin I dont get any message but I cant browse internet. When I go to Network map the internet status says connected and I get...

Hello,

first of all a big thanks to Merlin (and everyone else who contributed) for this great firmware. The main reason for me to use this firmware is the ssh daemon and ssh port forwarding.

Now to the point:
Recently I noticed that it does not matter if I set the option "Allow SSH Port Forwarding" in Administration -> System to "Yes" or "No", the port forwarding still works. I can do local, remote and dynamic port forwards via both LAN and WAN ssh connections no problem even if set to...

After my WDR3600 died, I went in search of a new router and stumbled across the RT-N66U. I have currently flashed it with AdvancedTomato (did not know about this Merlin fork), and will soon be re-flashing it to Merlin (reason: Unable to use OPTWARE, as the router randomly reboots if a USB drive is attached).

I see that there are detailed instructions to build Merlin from source. I am willing to give it a try, essentially to make teh firmware a bit leaner and to my taste.

I currently use ASUS RT-AC68U 1900M router, and upgraded the RT-AC68U_380.61_0.trx firmware.

I active the VPN(PPTP) connection in router, and enable some static route rules and the dnsmasq.conf.add for different DSN servers.

Everything looks fine except to access the Google website by Chrome (Safari and Firefox no problem)

I currently own an Asus RT-AC87U router currently using the latest stock firmware. I want to setup Url logging by device ip and would like to know the best way to accomplish this with my router for an inexperienced lower level router person, but fairly experienced computer person. I have seen linklogger software which appears to do what I want.
1) Do I need to upgrade to AMerlin firmware to use this or can I use stock firmware with linklogger?

Entware broken after reboot on 380.64_2

I could not find another thread for this so here goes: Entware and most things I install do not work after rebooting running FW 380.64_2. This did not happen on earlier releases of the FW. I have an ARM proc, ASUStek AD5300 with USB 2 thumb drive formatted EXT3. Not doing anything fancy, I just installed Entware with entware-setup.sh then install tcpdump, nano, mc, iftop, htop. Then after I reboot nano works but nothing else does, opkg fails, tcpdump, mc.

Anyone else seen this?

How to clear/delete syslog entries

I have 380.59 on AC-68R. I am trying to clean entries in the system log. From my reading, the Web UI only clears the UI, but not the actual log entries.

Next, I tried running rm /tmp/syslog.log and it does delete the file, but after reboot the log is recreated and all the old entries come back... I think I saw that behavior, but I could be wrong.

Next, I tried deleting the /tmp/syslog.log file along with /jffs/syslog.log files as well. Rebooted the router, but that does not help either. In...

With 380.65 beta2 if I set web interface authentication method to https, I find it extremely hard to ever get back into the router, browsers just will not connect properly. I am using AC3200.

I have added exceptions to the browsers but even then 9 times outta 10 it wont connect, even using asus router app for ios it wont connect when using https, it only does if authentication is set to http or both.

I have tried these browsers on windows 10, internet explorer, firefox, cyberfox and...

Hello,

I am trying to block outbound connects to know bad host from my LAN/ Wireless. I am running the script located below and have the below firewall rules so it looks to be working. Any know what else to check?
